The following is a recap of the CMLL show that was taped at Arena Mexico
on Friday June 6th. I also have some Japanese TV to review, but I ask
someone to quote a part of this message publically before I do so. No
reason to type it if no one will read it!

This show was supposed to air in Mexico City on Saturday night at 7:00
EST, but was pre-empted until Sunday morning in favor of the Women's
French Open Final. I found this show on Canal Cinco, which never shows
wrestling. I turned it on at 10:15, which doesn't necessarily mean it
was on for long if you know anything about Mexican TV, (They start shows
at practically any time, not just on the hour or half hour.)

Anyway, I heard from Steve Sims, Mr. Lucha Libre, that as of this or
next week, the Triple A will air on Galavision instead of the CMLL,
which is a shame for those who won't get to see this show because it was
great.

BTW, Steve Sims publishes a fantastic sheet on Lucha Libre for a dollar
an issue. Give it a try.

Onto the show.

The first match pit Sangre Chicana, Emilio Charles Jr., and Bestia
Salvaje against Los Metallicos, (Oro, Plata, and Bronce).
A great match won by the rudos in two straight falls. At the end of
Primera Caida, the first fall, Bronce did the Minami Toyota moonsault,
which is done from the middle of the top rope onto the floor. It is
breathtaking. The problem was that he hit his partner, Plata, when
Salvaje moved. The Rudos also took the second fall when Bestia Salvaje
did a reverse plancha off of the top. The Rudos won with ease, as if it
were a squash. Could los Metallicos be thinking of Jumpint to Triple A?
Rating ***

The Rudos stayed in the ring and when Brazo de Oro came out for his
match, Chicana attacked him and the other rudos joined in. As Brazo's
partners, Pierroth and Negro Casas came out, they did not help him.
Also, for the first time, "Arena", for the magazine, was written on the
side of the ring.

The second match had the aforementioned Rudos vs Lizmark, El Dandy, and
Faroan. The first fall went to the technicos. Dandy and Casas worked
great spots together. In the segunda caida, Pierroth attacked Brazo de
Oro, who had a BAD day, while Negro encouraged him. Faces saved Brazo.
The Technicos used this opportunity to go for the pin. Faroan turned an
attempted Hurricane Rana by Pierroth into a power bomb and pinned him
and Lizmark held Casas while Dandy chopped him in the throat from the
top rope and pinned him. The Rudos then went after Brazo again and
again, the faces saved him.
Rating *** 1\4

The third match had Los Inferniales, (Pirata Morgan, MS1, and Satanico)
take on Atlantis, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., and the Canadian Vampire. The
Inferniales were at their brawling best in the first fall and took it
easily. They started out strong in the segunda and Rayo juiced and had
his mask torn. The technicos made the come back though and took the
second. The technicos won the bout when Rayo small packaged Pirata,
even though his foot was clearly on the rope. I had expected the start
of the Satanico-Morgan feud here, but it did not happen. Great work by
all. *** 1\2.
