I do not know TAKI 183....but I saw cap at SEEN's birthday party
a year and a half ago...along with alot of other 70's and 80's writers...
he never had any sklls.....so he stopped...now he has some nasty wife
and an ugly daughter around 16 or 17.

was really up, so he made a bigger impact, but im suer there were other
kids rocking before him.

Maybe so ... but he was, in 1970, the first person that the media picked
up on, and from then on 'writing' or quite simply writing on walls
became known as 'graffiti'. He is a 'recognised' person that heavily
influenced the progression of graffiti. What you are saying is purely

So what do you recommend? What is a good source of documentation? Who is
to say who is right and who is wrong. Take for example the argument on
who did the first top to bottom cloud - was it dead leg 167 or phase 2?
When was the first wildstyle painted? 1973 or not until later in 1977?
Who can remember over 20 years ago exactly what was happening ... I know
I can't. As no-one documented it .. then we have no truths, just
distorted memories.

You must have seen Style Wars .. Cap was out to destroy the work of
others, not to get fame/be king of the line/etc ... He even took the
letter style from Comet. True he 'wrote' but not in the same way that
all those like zephyr, blade, dondi, pink, seen, etc... did.
Why did you choose to be abusive? A simple answer would have sufficed,
as the questions were both valid, and I'm sure that any valid answers
would also be interesting to read.

its all about expressing ones self.
maybe kids are right to say that european writers are just copying what
they see in books and dont really know the real reasons to paint.. but i
doubt it, i think you're just a special example.
i think you need to think long and hard about graffiti.. think about why
you do it. and what its all about. what some of the positive things you
can accomplish using graffiti .... dont just follow that boring ass
style that you see over and over in books and magazines. use some
creativity.
hmm, lets see, maybe look into cost & revs, and the kinda shit they were
doing, and the stuff they had to say....
it might save you.

styles.

(USA),Xplicit Grafx (paris),Style Wars (Hilden Germany),Theres No
Limit(Zurich Switzerland),and True colosz(Amsterdam Holland).

Now I know some European writers haven't done Europe any favours in
America with the way they go on over there with their "We have
perfected the New York style and made it better" and all that
BULLSHIT, and as a whole I'm not down with any European scene, or
even a London scene. My Crew! My Lay-ups and My Photos! But growing
up in England in the early '80's if you was writing, you had your eyes
opened by Subway Art and Style Wars, and nothing else. when that's
all you got to go on you can't do fuck all else but read the book and
try and piece it all together like a jigsaw.
To some people it's a fetish, you know like shell toes & states, old
TV cop shows, adidas satchels, choppers and all that bollocks. Last
week I saw the 70 min Style Wars and people were pissing their pants
over it. It's got no real relevance to bombing trains in London today,
but it still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and my
skin go green with envy....

here in NY...last year I met this kid who wrote POEM....he was a dick..
but I have also painted with this kid LOOMIT a couple of times and he is

Maybe for you it is, but for me it's about primarily fame - but not just snatch and grab quick
time fame. No it's about long term fame, about investing alot in to get alot back. And these
days it's more about the damage, about pissing the BTP and train companies off, about trying to
wake the public up to all the possibilities there are to be different. I don't go to a train
depot to spray my nome de plume as a way of expressing myself, I have a decent vocabulary and can
be eloquent and empassioned if necessary - I have trouble understanding how spraying your
nickname is a way of expression, because all you are saying is me, me, me. If that is all you
have to say, then there is not much to express in the first place

brooklyn about 3 weeks ago with Revs and he is still rockin shit. Cost
however is trying to stay on the D.L. he just rides around his queens hood
