For the life story of the American POW who was just rescued yesterday.
A TV movie will be made, no doubt about that.

Needed: 19 year old looking blonde. (won't be hard to find).

A cynical comment from me - oh, so the slim blonde female gets
rescued...when will they rescue the apparently not so slim black
female "chef"?

No, doesn't look like her. The thing is, Lynch does kind of look like a
younger Mira Sorvino, but Sorvino is too old. So they need someone that
looks like her...

Cynical is too nice a word for that comment. why does there have to be a

If Jessica Lynch was black would there
have been as much media interest?

Its a touchy question of course.

A resounding yes there would be as much media interest. It is a "feel good"
story at a time when the country wants one; it wouldn't matter if she'd been
purple and had three arms.

So it may not be palatable to tell her story. Especially since
Iraqis have not treated women POW's humanely in the past.

No, sadly, we'll be stuck with Elisha Cuthbert even longer, as I just read
that casting talks have already begun with Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar
touted as favorite to play Jessica.
I say send Buffy in to drive a stake in Kim's heart and end her misery.
She's faced every other crisis out there anyway.

Nancy McKeon or Patty Duke. Okay, neither of them are 19, but our
choices are limited. Tom Skerrit(sp?) will probably need to be in the
movie, too. Aren't they all Lifetime staples?

More details coming out today about how an Iraqi whose wife was
a nurse at the hospital didn't like the way Jessica was being
treated so he hiked 6 miles to a marine base and told them about
here, he went back and did undercover work as to where the guards
were at the hospital and drew a map to show exactly where she
was. The dramatic elements keep building for this story. Now they
will need a Arab looking person around 32 years old for his role.

Hmm, a telegenic young blonde with experience in being held captive and
familiarity with sudden media exposure. Elizabeth Smart, Hollywood is calling.

God, it's time to give up the ghost. Mira Sorvino is too old. That makes me
sad.

To play a 19-year old? Yes. Overall? No.

How about Mena Suvari? The similar sounding name made me think of her.
She's blonde and only in her early 20s. I don't know what Jessica Lynch
looks like, though, so I don't know how similar they are...

This is a no brainer for me. The girl who played Jesse on "Once and
Again," Evan Rachel Wood. Yeah, I know she might seem to young for
some of you but she turns 17 this year and I believe could be capable
of playing 19 even though Lynch is turning 20 in a matter of weeks.

Not bad. Could do fairly well....Definitely. There's a pic of her wearing an
orange sun-dress kinda thing. Her face looks somewhat pale, not unlike the
news images (as oh-so-accurate as they can be) of PFC Lynch.

Or do a search at the same site for Kate Bosworth. But anyway.

Absolutely true.

But the only reason anyone is thinking TV Movie is because she's so damn telegenic.

I'm positive that Playboy is chomping at the bit to make her an offer.
