Samorodok Regains Luster

Samorodok bounced back and swept the BYUH Seasiders 30-20, 30-15, 30-20 in less
than 90 minutes. Size, strength and experience mattered as Samorodok dominated
at the net. Samorodok consistently out-blocked BYUH except in G3 when the
blocking was close for a while, but BYUH was not able to maintain its intensity.
BYUH was close in G1 until Samorodok broke a 5-5 tie and ran away for good. A
kill by Koulikoca ended G1 on the 3rd game point. G2 was all Samorodok. A bad
set led to a quick stuff by Samorodok to end G2. In G3, BYUH managed to build a
12-7 lead only to see it slip away as Samorodok went on an 8-0 run on Ivankova's
serve to make it 15-12. Samorodok kept BYUH at bay after that and Koulikova
ended the match.
BYUH didn't play badly, Samorodok was simply golden. All I can say to Samorodok
is, "please come back!" Apparently, I'm not alone as 3 diehard UH season ticket
holders made the trip to Laie with a "Go Samorodok" sign.
