My theory was that after trying to out-Heinlein Heinlein, then trying to
out-Doc-Smith Doc Smith, there wasn't a lot of room left in the Macrocosmic
All. Either that, or he couldn't find a new sexual taboo to break.

WHAT?
Couldn't find another sexual taboo to break?
The David Palmer (where are you?) that I know wrote _Emergence_ and
_Threshold_. What sexual taboo's are you referring to? The willingness of a
young lady (below 18) to maybe engage in sex in Emergence?
I don't know of any taboos in _Threshold_ that were broken. I only wish the
sequel (allegedly written and rejected per the net.rumor) had been published.
David, Are you out there? Your audience awaits. Though I don't agree with
the comparison, being lumped in with Heinlein and EE 'Doc' Smith is not a
bad neighborhood. JMNSHO. YMMV.

If anyone who reads this runs into Mr. Palmer tell him that he is inquired
about just about every month in this forum, which to me indicates a fan base
waiting for his next work. Thank You.
