And the exhibition starts with a reception at the National Portrait Gallery in London in April.
Let me say that again....
A picture of mine will hang in the National Portrait Gallery from 10th April until 22nd June.
Wow!
It will then go on tour, National Gallery Cardiff, 3rd July to 30th August.
Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art, September 13th to November 16th.
Manchester Art Gallery, November 24th to January 20th.
Ormeau Baths Gallery, Belfast, February to March 2004.
I am quite relieved that I'm not one of the dozen self portrait artists chosen to be part of the TV
programme itself. I'm not really up for a tv appearance.
The self portrait I did was done at work, in about 15 minutes in ball point pen, it's me belly
dancing, so I suppose I had better wear a swooshy skirt to the reception.
Alison Scott is going with me, she works next door to the gallery, expect a Plokta article Real Soon
Now.
Sue (who is dead excited!!!!)
Congratulations!
congrats!

Geri read your email to the assembled people at a Minicon work party
this afternoon, and we were pretty excited too.

Hearty congratulations, Sue!
(Any fair portrait of you would be sure to raise the quality of the
exhibition. To have it be by your own hand doubles the compliment.)

The opening it this Thursday. Bounce, bounce bounce.
I feel like the country mouse, going down to the big Smoke (it must be 10 years since I've gone into
central London, I am *not* a London person) Alison Scott printed out a map to her office from
Euston.
Clearly, we need a picture of you *and* the picture!

Well, I am deliberately wearing a long floppy skirt and low cut top tomorrow to match the sketch.
achoo!
Sorry, Alison generously gave me a cold at the weekend - I should be at bell dancing tonight but
instead I'm curled up with hot toddy and intend to get early night to try and encourage it to go for
tomorrow!
Will let you all know how it goes.

An article about the exhibition, unaccountably missing details on Sue's
contribution, is in today's _Guardian_:

Of course I feel old. The videos I used to watch on MTV (back when they
still showed videos) moved to VH1, and now they're on "VH1 Classic".
Oh, cool. You'll be heading there not long after I saw this and
responded to it. Enjoy every second!
