Number 2 is correct.

Scenario 2 is indeed correct. (This assumes that the 2nd move of the 4
in your example is in itself a legal move, furthermore if the landing
place of the 'second die' is another blot, then two checkers are sent to
the bar).

There is a version of BG that some play that says you can't "hit and run" --
though I've only seen it applied on your home board. (ie you can't hit and run
there.) I think this is popular with middle eastern players. So its worth
checking with people before you play.
