An improvement.

Real Time? Nothing is real and there's never enough time.

I'll assume that you want tools for OSR5 (Open Server 5).

Start with sar. There's quite a bit on sar in the SCO documentation.
Getting it setup for 24hr data collection requires a bit of tweaking:
http://www.cruzio.com/~jeffl/sco/sar24hour.txt
There are also tools for interpreting the results. See:
http://www.sarcheck.com
There's a Sarcheck Lite on the Skunkware 99 cdrom.

For generating real time statistics and traffic graphing, there are
various SNMP (Stupid Network Management Protocol) tools. SCO's SNMP
implimentation sucks but can be convinved to function. See:
http://www.cruzio.com/~jeffl/sco/snmp_install.txt
To extract the SNMP data and graph the results, use MRTG (Multi-router
traffic grapher).

Incidentally, real time means that the system will service an IRQ in a
guaranteed minimum amount of time. I'm sure this is not what you
meant. Any additional question, please clarify what you are trying to
accomplish.

Hi Robert:
I like Olympus Tuneup (www.olysoft.com)...Does a real nice job and is
very close to real time...It monitors your application mix and makes
kernal tune recommendations and will even make them for you...I have it
installed on all my customer sites...Sar is an excellent tool as well...

Hope this helps...
Mike

There is lots of time. Time is infinite. It is you who is finite.
