However, I am beginning to experience pain in my knuckles near the finger
tips and somewhat in the finger tips as well. Some of the knuckles are sore
to the touch. Reluctantly, I am going to try and discontinue the Quercetin
for awhile to see if these symptoms improve. Has anyone had a similar
experience with Quercetin? Dr Shokes - I would appreciate any advice. I
want to be clear that I do not know if it is the Quercetin causing these
symptoms. However, the symptoms started out with just one knuckle feeling a
bit sore and then gradually got worse. The one knuckle may have started
sometime around when I began the Quercetin. I'm not exactly sure when but
the timing would be close.
Currently I take:
90 mg Zinc (from all sources)
1 prostate pill (one of those formulas we've all seen), three times a day
- zinc
- raw prostate
- amino acids
- B6
1 50mg B6 complex twice a day
400 IU vitamin E
1 Quercetin pill twice a day - each pill contains 250mg Quercetin along
with 700mg vitamin C. The brand is Quercetin +C from Twinlabs
Quercetin has been like a god send. Any Ideas?

Funny you mention this, I have been having the same thing since I started
Quercetin Complex from Solgar ( total per day: Q-1500/2000, C- 1500/2000,
Bromelian- 300-400, Rutin- 30-40)
Didn't really give it much thought until I read your post, but my finger
joints have been achy/sore I think since I started this Q-Complex 6-7 weeks
ago. It has worked wonders for my CP symptoms, 90-100% relief, so I sure
hope I am not otherwise poisoning myself with this intake of supplements.
Sometimes the outer joints on my fingers, especially the first finger, are
sore enough that It is very painful to squeeze it in, like when making a
tight fist. I thought I might be developing arthritis (!) and I am only 38
years old. Any more comments?
Pete
As a test, I stopped the Quercetin two days ago. The pain in my finger
joints has subsided by about 90%. I also had about 90 -100% relief with
Quercetin so to lose the use of it is very depressing. However, my fingers
were getting VERY painful. They also felt kind of warm and I began feeling
a bit flushed as well.
It appears there are two of us experiencing this condition. Dr. Shoskes -
have any ideas as to why this is happening? My current plan is to continue
not taking the Q until my CP symptoms get worse, then maybe try only one
pill per day. I can't believe how desperate you become with this crap.
Before CP it would take an act of congress for me to throw things like this
into my body, now when you finally feel relief its too hard to go back to
the pain.

I'm glad I read this, because I, too, have had sore finger joints on
and off. I'm taking 500 mg quercetin twice daily, but had upped the
dose to 1000 mg twice daily. Since dropping the dosage the swelling
has subsided.
Dr. Shoskes, it looks like this may be worth following up, since the
symptoms are unusual enough to be recognizable and seem correlated
with high dosages of quercetin.

Currently I am on nothing else but ProstaQ (1g a day). Previously I was taking
Saw Palmetto for about 3 years non-stop. I took ProstaQ for 2 weeks (with extra
Saw Palmetto supplements), then quit both PQ & SP and was on Diflucan for 2
weeks. Now I've been on ProstaQ only for 2 weeks.
I will go off ProstaQ and see if my fingers feel better. It is a very slight
pain and only moderately annoying to tie my shoes. I think this is a total
coincidence, but I'd like to know if anyone else if noticing any unusual. I was
wondering if there are any side effects from taking Saw Palmetto long-term.

Thanks for reading.

It could be the power of suggestion. In my case, I was getting finger joint pain

Hey, does anyone notice that after taking quercetin you can have 3 or 4 orgasms
and incredible erections?
See if we can collectively "raise" the consciousness of this group.

I'm still getting that effect from Klondike Bars.
Ed,
Would that be erections or relief? If it is the former, I am going to
buy Klondike Bar stock.
