PSI extends PSINet to California delivering
coast-to-coast internetworking solutions.

Reston, VA, April 23, 1990 - William L.
Schrader, President & CEO, Performance Systems
International, Inc. (PSI), today announced that PSI's
T1 backbone network (PSINet) will be extended to
California, "The need for commercial internetworking
using TCP/IP and OSI technology on a national basis
is substantial. The PSI team continues its tradition of
being on the leading edge and will now deliver
national solutions to the national marketplace. We
remain committed to the highest engineering
standards in providing reliable delivery of needed
services."

In May, PSI will open three points of presence
(POP's) in California: Los Angeles, Mountain View
and Santa Clara, on its T1 backbone, PSINet, with
two seperate coast-to-coast T1 circuits to insure
reliable performance. At the same time, PSI will
expand its regional office in Mountain View. This
transcontinental expansion extends the network
beyond its well established mid-Atlantic and New
England presence. PSI California operations will
provide quality wide area networking (WAN)
services, especially for corporations with distributed
facilities requiring intra-corporate communications as
well as access to the Internet.

This turnkey approach to leveraging a customer's
large investment in local area computer networking
(LAN's) with minimal investment to move information
among some 2,000 organizations globally is growing
in popularity among corporate participants. The
consistent, professional service delivered by PSI
allows customers to take advantage of this
communications resource while still concentrating on
what they do best - their own business.

Individual users will be able to access PSINet
through local dialup numbers in California, the
Northeast and mid-Atlantic areas to work on their
organization's host computers. UUCP Mail and
USENET/News service is also available through
these local dialup numbers.

In conjunction, PSI announced ten new Standard
Connection Service customers for PSINet. These
include Albert Einstein College of Medicine and
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New
York City, cisco Systems in Menlo Park, CA and
Princeton, NJ, E. I. DuPont de Nemour & Co. in
Newark, DE, IBM Corp in White Plains NY,
Pergamon Press in Elmsford, NY, Planning Research
Corporation in McLean, VA, Proteon, Inc. in
Westborough, MA and Xerox Corp in Rochester, NY.

PSI is a value-added internetworking and
information services provider headquartered in
Reston, Virginia.
