Hello Mike,

maybe you should try "The backgammon Handbook" by Enno Heyken and Martin
Fischer. As I'am one of the authors, I'am not objective about the book.
I think it's quite a good book. You will find a lot of problems in this
book and I hope, we taught the reader, how to think in backgammon, even
if we sometimes get wrong solution. In the end, there is a match between
two top players. I f you want more informations, send me an e-mail and I
will answer your questions.

Beside our book I recommend two books from Bill Robertie, "Backgammon
for Winners" and "Backgammon for Serious Players".

If youz have some more questions, send me an e-mail and I will answer
your questions, if possible.

Martin, how nice to see you here! I have The Backgammon Handbook and
it is a good primer, though not as good as Magriel (also not as
expensive; list price UKP 15.95). I played through the match at the
back, which was instructive (Robertie vs. Ballard 1987 in Reno). If
you can't find the book, you can get it direct from the publisher in
the UK - Crowood Press, Ramsbury, Marlborough, SN8 2HE, UK - sorry,
don't know the phone number, don't know if they are online.
