A: Not everyone here is American
B: Windows PCs are not the only choice - Macs, Amigas and UNIX systems
exist, for example
C: Why get an expensive, undependable system if it's not necessary for
what you do?

On this last point, I just helped install a 486SX PC with DOS for
someone reluctantly upgrading from a 386SX - he needed more memory and
this was the cheapest and esaiest way to get it (second hand prices of
such old machines being so low). He didn't want, and doesn't need,
Windows to run WordPerfect and Norton AntiVirus, which is all he needs
to run his small business. I ma happily running Win95 - in a few
months are you going to mock me for not spending money to go to 32MB
RAM and Win 98? Why should I? I have what I need.

Thank you for giving me a chance to play Monte Carlo. It's almost
impossible to play it on FIBS (there seems to be a queue of players to play
it).

As Windows98 is definitely more than a "game" (a joke too, f.i.), we can
expect it to sell at $1,000 or more, because hardly anyone needs it
:-)

I think most people naturally assume software is win 95 or NT only unless
otherwise stated. To actually assume software released these days will
support an operating system as outdated as win 3.1x is slightly more than
optimistic...its a bit silly.

Agreed!!!! Windows 98 will be on the shelves pretty soon, and Windows 95 is
the standard platform, like DOS was some 5 years ago. Most software
developers don't even bother in writing programs supported by Windows 3.x.
