Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but given that *every* group is
full of people who gripe all the time (that being USENET's major
function), it's nice to see a group that does it so _well_. If you like
reading lengthy but AMUSING gripes and diatribes, alt.peeves is for you.

Yeah, I'd certainly agree. Alt.fan.joel-furr is a much better group than
alt.religion.kibology, which after all does very little other than post
trolls to rec.org.mensa. Everyone should read alt.fan.joel-furr. After
all, _Internet World_ dubbed me the "nicest guy in Cyberspace" so it
*must* be a good place to hang out.

Tell the people at the door that Joel Furr sent you and you'll get a free
drink with one of those little paper umbrellas.

iT IS DECIDEDLY TRUTHFUL THAT ALT.PEEVES IS A PLACE FOR WELL-WERITTEN,
WELL-THOUGHT-OUT CONVERSATION - OF COURSE, THAT CONVERSATION USUALLY
CONCERNS SUCH TOPICS AS WHETHER 0.999... IS EQUAL TO ONE, WHETHER
SMOKING SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN PUBLIIC PLACES, AND WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF
THE BACK OF YOUR PANCAKE BEING BURNT, GIVEN THAT THERE ARE THREE
PANCAKES, ONE BURNT ON BOTH SIDES, ONE BURNT ON NEITHER SIDE, ONE BURN
ON ONLY ONE SIDE, AND THE FACE UP SIDE OF THE PANCAKE ON YOUR PLATE IS
BURNT.

iF THESE TOPICS INTEREST YOU, BY ALL MEANS SUBSCIRBE.

Ya see, nothwithstanding the exchange of net.custard-pies, I enjoy
discussing stuff with Mike, because I know that the positions he adopts
are ones he's arrived at after careful thought and honest reflection.
