Already early last week was a general show about various Cults on
German channel 3sat.

The segment about Scientology was about a young Austrian man in his
early twenties named Dejan Rupnik, who was a Scientologist, brought up
by Scientologist-Parents.

At some point, he got doubts about it all and openly said so in the
Org. He was shocked about the reaction, as things were never the same
again: All of his former Scientology-Friends immediately turned away
from him at the Org and even when he tried to talk to his mother in
the hallway there, she was being lead away by the Org-Leader into
another room and he was told: "You can't talk to her anymore".

His father Zvonimir Rupnik, a business-man and contact adress for
U-Man Austria, threw his son Dejan out of the family home shortly
after.

It was interesting, that both son and father were willing to be openly
interviewed for the program (but separately though). The father - who
appeared quite nice - said, that he found "absolute truth" in
Scientology and that there is no choice but to follow it precisely and
take the necessary steps, even if it may seem hard. He also said: "I
have hopes for my son, as he is still young"

The son Dejan, who left Scientology for good since then, expressed
only deep pity for his father, that he felt the need for acting
against his own son in such a way. Dejan also said, that the hardest
thing for him was, that no one ever approached him on a personal level
during any of this, but that he was only being subected to an endless
series of tests and checks in a very cold way. He has still no more
contact to his parents.

The second part of the show was about the 1996 story of the company
"TopCall", which installed Fax Servers into the computer-system of the
Austrian Interior Ministry and which was at the time being run by a
Scientologist. It caused some concern of security risk in the Austrian
parliament. (I think, that story was on a.r.s. before)
