I've noticed something weird every now and then, when replace the stylus
quickly the pilot switches off. Which is a neat effect since most times
that's what I do just before switching off anyway. But I am worried about
a dry connection being the real cause. Has anyone else seen similar?

Unless you happened to replace the stylus when the Pilot timed out, you
have a potentially serious problem. I spent a lot of time on airplanes
playing games and I always put the stylus back so I won't drop it (I did
drop it once, and it fell under the foot of the guy sleeping in the seat
behind me. Did I look silly lying on the floor fumbling with the guy's feet
when he woke up!...). It never shut down except when it timed out.
