My kids caught the Greg and Steve concert on the Disney channel a few
months back and they LOVED it! Does anyone know if there's a video out
of these guys? I found a couple of audio cassettes, but it's not the same.
I tried Raffi, BabySongs, and KidSongs(?), but they really prefer a
concert type fun-for-all like Greg and Steve. Raffi they found boring.
Are there any others I should try? Thanks in advance!!

You are right, some of these kids entertainers are pretty lame. I lot
seem too warm and fuzzy and almost talk down to kids; kids are
brighter than most adults give them credit.

There is a kids entertainer here who bills himself as "Gary, The Happy
Pirate" (formerly half of "Doug and Gary - The Happy Pirates") that is
doing very well on a local, regional, and beyond basis. He/They have
about 6 audio and 1-2 video tapes out. Gary will be doing a
Japan-based cable TV show starting this fall and has a Rochester,
NY-based Sunday AM show now. My 4.1 year old is nuts about their songs
and knows them all. I don't know if they are available on a
nation-wide basis. Concerts are frequent and pack; both free and ones
that charge admission. They have played the Whitehouse Easter ege roll
twice and have done shows in othr parts of the USA.

I have to make a post in defense of Raffi (though I never thought I would!)
My son LOVES his tapes, and has from 10 months until now (18 months). The
songs are pretty wierd, and definitely corny for adults (maybe also older
children- how old are yours?), but Zak LOVES them.

I would strongly reccommend them for young children. One word of caution:
the songs can be really wierd, and though you may hate them at first, you
will find yourself singing them later (and hating them even more!)

Don't know what age your kids are, but you might check out Tom Chapin
(great for the 4 to 99 age group).

Trout Fishing in America are also a riot, with many songs aimed at
kids who are a little older (maybe in the 7 or 8 and up age group).

I'm pretty sure Tom Chapin has some videos, don't know about TFA.
