Color me dissapointed. As I sat down to watch AAA Sunday, I saw the all
too familiar credits of CMLL pop up. Either Channel 22 in LA dropped the
ball, Galavision got confused, or AAA just didn't do a show for 7/11/93.
At any rate, AAA was not to be found (by me) Sunday, and CMLL was shown in
it's place.

CMLL's still decent, but it doesn't get to me like AAA. CMLL lost most
of their talent to AAA, and the wrestlers just don't seem as... interested
as they did a couple years ago (pre-AAA).

Here's a brief summary of the show:

The first match was the worst Lucha match I can remember seeing. One of the
teams where Los Australionos or something. I don't care. All the moves
were half-assed, the wrestlers looked green, the work rate reminded me of the
WWF. My friend said it looked like what he could do in a ring. Slop.

The next match was decent, and featured a number of big Lucha names, and even
a few recognizable by the non-Lucha crowd: Negro Casas, Brazo de Plata, and
Ultimo Dragon. The workrate was OK in this match, with Casas and Dragon
seeming to be most into it. Dragon submitted to a real evil looking
submission hold that could break somebody's neck if applied poorly.
Dragon didn't fly, nor did anyone else.

The next match was decent too, featuring a face turn for La Fiera, and
Canadian Vampire Casanova. The guy is _way_ over in Mexico. He has
a lot of charisma. Not Hogan charisma, but cool character charisma like
Undertaker. Vampiro is a lot more livid than Undertaker though.
I first thought that it was just pre-teen girls that were into CVC, but
almost _everybody_ was in to him.

The last match was (I think...) for the CMLL Welterweight title. This
is the smallest weight divison in CMLL (except for midgets). Felino
(I think the champ) versus Ciclon Rameriez. This was a **** with
a moonsault by Felino and a sommersault body block off the apron by
Rameriez. Negro Casas' apperance at ringside allowed Rameriez to sneak
behind Felino and pin him with a German suplex.

Since CMLL is a 2 hour show, the remaining half-hour was a replay of last
weeks **** tag match featuring Octagon, Perro Aguayo, and Hijo del Santo
versus Fuerza Guerrera, El Satanico, and Mascara Ano 2000.

One thing I noticed. Quite a few of the CMLL people have appeared in
UWA in the past. Do a few of the UWA people work in CMLL when UWA isn't
touring? Or were just a lot of jumps recently?

Hopefully AAA will return next week.
