Good to see people at least talking about mtv.com, and stuff is now
finally styarting to fall into place.

I believe I should explain a little about what I am doing with mtv.com.

First of all it is NOT sponsored or sanctioned or controlled in any way by
MTV Networks, I work for them on air, and have been there for the past 6
years.

Although MTV is slowly getting into the digital age, they are more
interested at the moment in games, interactive tv etc. And these days with
the big buyout and merger news everyone has their mind on other things
than the Net. Why in fact, MTV still uses their WANG system! ;-)

MTV is ofcourse aware of what I am doing, and it's obvious that tghere are
many linitations to the service I can porovide on the Net, especially when
it comes to stuff that is owned and or trademarked by MTV, even use of the
name could potentially get me in trouble, but when I found out that
mtv.com was available as an internet adress I couldn't resist and jumped
at the chance!

I hope to provide an allround entertainment service, that will always
remain free to the Internet community, unlike anything MTV would do I
might point out.

So for now I am paying for everything out of my own pocket, and ofcourse
will always accept donations! ;-)

My staff at my own company CurryCo KLtd is working on this project with
me, and I intend to eventually win over the music industry to participate,
many majors have already comitted.

As of now you can gopher to mtv.com or ftp, there is also a mailing list
in place for Cyber-Sleaze, for info on that finger hot...@mtv.com

Hope this answers most of your questions, for more info, check out the
README files on the gopher server and ftp directory.

I hope everyone will enjoy what we're doing, and support our efforts.

Oh yeah, eventually I do hope to get sponsoring for the site, but I
promise I'll NEVER run as many commercials as MTV does ;-)

C-Ya.

Ah, you mean you are appropriating their trademark, and are using it
without permission. I suppose the folks who own the place
will be amused by that once they wake up.

Adam, while it seems like a totally dweeby question (which that last
phrase sounded like as well) what was on your shirt during the Top 20
Countdown this week. It looked like "Internet GOPHER World in 1993," but
it was a hard read.

What's the diff? Anyone can register any domain name they want. Adam
could just say it stands for Massive Tractors and Vegetables, Inc. if he
had to.

We at Massive Tractors and Vegetables, Inc. would have a serious objection
to any use of our trademark without permission.
