I'm not saying C64 users were thick but their machine was the only one
ever redesigned with an 'ANY' key as many Commode users were confused
when asked to press any key.

Also, I can't really understand why the C64 has
numbers above 3 on the keyboard as they are wasted on Commies!

At least they made the machine SLLLOOOWWW to match their user base!

This isn't his first attempt, and probably won't be his last. Personally, I
could do without an annual flame war. I think many in the other groups
might share that opinion.

Me too. If there has to be one however, it should be based upon

One question: Have you ever seen a C64 in reality? Or do you know it only
from the pictures they showed you in the sanatorium to measure your level of
brain activity, with electrodes connected all over your head?

Now don't be jealous on us poor folks, just because your dad removed all the
numbers above 3 on your spackdrum at the age of 16, when you began babbling
your first words. Ts ts ts...

Oh what a pathetic try to start a flame war. Seems to me like a baby
pointing a spray gun at a bunch of heavily armed adults. So, please (with
sugar on top), get the fuck out of here and stop your mindless crossposts.

I always thought a "friendly competition" between CBM and Speccy would be
better than a flamewar. A friendly competition would produce a lot of good
ideas and help to keep people interested in both scenes. A flamewar
produces. . hmm. . a big lump of immature nonsense in everyone's newsreader
and in Dejanews's database to be viewed for all time by anyone.

Isn't the MiniGame compo a result of a "friendly flamewar" two years

DejaNews is /soooo/ last week. In fact, it's older than that. Did you
miss the part where their archive was taken over by Google?

I don't believe I have ever seen a Spectrum. Is it related to the
Ti99/4a?

Can someone email me some specifications on the Spectrum?

Which models of the Spectrum are most collectable?

The above URL will take you to a usenet posting by Weetomuncher, in
which he explains his desire to use Linux, while pointing out that he
does not even own a PC, and in fact posts from a TV-based internet
device.

I tried telling you this back when you were flaming him for daring to
suggest remakes of old games on the Windows platform (except that he
never mentioned Windows).

Unfortunately, someone told a few years ago that one day computers
will be taking over a number a household items (TV being one). I
just didn't like the idea of having a TV based internet setup, for the
expense & backup plan in case it's a flop. Does anyone even know if an
ISP for one of those things is an option. No, sadily computer was the
only solution. I don't exactly support playing games which are
superior to the 8bit versions (unless I'm using my emulator). I'm still
here supporting my 8bit, doesn't that count for something?

No, they were probably trying to update them for his TV internet thing!
Sure it can be done, a little Javascript still works under that system!
;-)

Ross.

Good. TV is doing the job for the internet anyway, what with the
incredibly poor programmes being put on these days. No wonder the ad
revenue is slipping away. ITV has turned to "Monkey Tennis".

It's a local rate 0845 job, but the surfing is quite slow, like being
on a PC around 200 or 300 megahertz.

I support 8 bits too. I am just not in the position of owning a
working one. As much as I love them, they die - and you can re-create
their experiences on modern computers. Yes, burn me for my heresy.
