Hey everyone

By typing this letter - I may be inviting the wrath of a nuclear-level legal
attack on Project object, and on what we do. But I donšt care - this is
ridiculous what's going on. Some of you may know that PO has had our share
of lame lawsuits and legal attacks -- for doing EXACTLY what the composer of
this music requested on his deathbed!!! to play his music!!! What the
fcuk!?!??!

Anyway -I got a call the other day from Jason Zappa. (nephew of FZ, son of
his brother Bob) We spoke about ways to help his uncle Carl (yes - he of the
smelly gym sock on Roxy). We've had nothing but excellent vibes, love,
friendship and support from most of people with the Zappa last name.

I was gonna keep this story private and just do what I could with helping
Carl, a diabetic, with some donations of natural supplements from my store
and some dietary advice.

But - Carl has decided that he needs to do anything he can to raise funds
and he is auctioning stuff off on ebay

The bummer is - CARL IS BEING EVICTED.

Now - you may ask - how can that be ?? Frank Zappa's brother?? Homeless??

Well - here's the synopsis:

-IN the early 70s, Frank Zappa bought a house for his Mom.

-In December 1993, Frank Zappa passed on.

- In January 2004, Mrs Zappa, their mother passed on.

- Her son Carl ,who lived with her - has been EVICTED.

- The house, with (I guess) everything else - was inherited by Gail Zappa
and the Zappa family trust in 1993.

- therefore , Gail Zappa is the landlord.

-Sadly - she has decided it's a good and moral idea to evict a sick man from
a house that has been long paid for and can't really be worth all that much,
to someone with an address just outside Beverly Hills.

-Gail Zappa -who I hold no hatred or animosity towards (i'm just confused
and dissapointed and sad) - has not been a friend of just about EVERY Zappa
tribute band, festival, legally released recording, t shirt , or anything
else. What a bummer - everyone of those people simply seeks to celebrate the
life, times and music of an american genius.

If ANYONE in the southern california area can help more directly with
healthy cooking, meals, or helping Carl re-locate - pls drop me a line and
I'll put you in touch with Jason Zappa.

By the way - Jason Zappa has been helping his uncle, traveling back and
forth from his Northwestern home. Sadly - Mr Zappa apparently has no
relatives in the immediate LA area interested in providing assistance.

Well now, we have two completely different stories about the source of the
eviction order. Anybody able to confirm which (if any) is correct? The
"reverse mortgage" idea seems more plausible to me.

Regardless of the circumstances the dude apparently needs some help.
How 'bout someone setting up a trust for Carl? If, for whatever reason, he
isn't being helped by his family, which CAN happen for various reasons,
then let charity from strangers take over.
This would need to be set up by someone in the L.A. area with credentials
to insure it was above the board. You could set up a PayPal account and put
legal description, etc. on a web page.

I'd be curious as to the rest of the story. I'm diabetic, but I'm a
grown man and I support myself and a family. I don't know what Carl's
abilities and/or disabilities are. I would have to know much more on the
topic, which is really none of my business, to be able to comment on the
situation.

Yo Greg -

I think it varies from individual to individual. My only experience is
witnessing my father's (he recently passed on) and friends' diabetes . It seems
like it can be debilitating - blood sugar up and down = extreme mood and energy
swings. In friends - I have noticed that when there is instability (finances,
life, etc) the condition seems to flare up and become more consuming......but I
am presuming that you know more about it than I do, and I am sorry that you
suffer from the disease. It is the fastest growing disease in the US at this time
.

I also assume that for anyone with the disease there is expense involved
(insulin) - and CA is a VERY unforgiving place with regard to health care for the
needy.

But I know nothing about Carl's situation - except that there are a number of us
who want to help him. Frank would not let his brother be evicted, with no
back-end support for relocation, I know it.

So - I presume the Paypal link from the ebay auction is the best way to get money
to Carl for anyone who cares to contribute - that is the only channel that I am
aware of.

thanks for everyone's interest and concern

Ed
