I'm getting the "Server terminated unexpectedly" in my Xerrors file.
If I press F1 after my password, I get a scoterm window and shell,
but that's it (what does this tell me, anyway?)
I have no resolv.conf file. Hostname is
resolvable VIA /etc/hosts Mouse is working fine on scologin screen
as well as the text screens, and I've /dev/null'ed /etc/X[0-8]0.hosts
Reboot, system/software verify looks as it always does - still hosed.
scologin stop/disable and trying xstart just hangs that screen.
Can I just remove and reinstall everything under "Enterprise System
Graphics (v5.0.6j)", barring any better ideas?

Did you change your shell?

See if the scripts for the various shells in /usr/lib/X11/scologin are all
intact.

They're all dated the time of the install of the OS.
M. Whitaker emailed me that one of the Skunkware packages may modify
/usr/lib/X11/sys.startxrc. I looked in there and something(?) seems
to have added:
[ -x $XSCCMD ] && $XSCCMD -exit
[ -x $XSCRNS ] && $XSCRNS -no-splash &
Deleting those lines and changing the owner/group back to bin.bin
seems to solved the problem.
I don't know what went wrong with the Skunkware install. I told it
to install GCC and left for the day and the next morning it appeared
to have been installing most everything on Skunkware. So I dont' know
what package exactly caused the problem, but I'm conviced it's something
on Skunkware.
Thanks everyone.

Steve, thanks for posting this to the group. I'm sorry I had to use
a private email, but I was unable to post yesterday for some reason.
Here goes another try ...
