WAVETERMINAL 192X KICKS BUTT

I seldom post on RAP, but today I actually have something useful to say. I
bought
a ESI Waveterminal 192X ADC/DAC card. I'm so blown away by it's performance
that thought I'd tell.

No, I don't work for the company, own any stock, and
I'm not getting any money for saying something nice. I also know the you guys
are gonna tear my throat out, when I say what I'm gonna say.

It totally blew away my Apogee Rosetta, in fact after an A/B comparison I sold
the Rosetta quick. My friend has a $4000 PSX-100 SE, to my ear this $300 card
sounds better. The spec.'s are sure better, double the sampling rate, Dynamic
range (s/n) 123db a-weighted, the $4000 Apogee is 117.

I got $750 for my Rosetta, I think I'm lucky, next year it's likely to be worth
$150. I think there is a lot of Bull Shit in the pricing & marketing of these
converters. Are we all being ripped off, big time? But then again, maybe it's
just like computers, they keep getting way better, and cheaper.
