"Brazil" (1985 Terry Gilliam film)
- The central bureaucracy building, urgent messages in pneumatic tubes that are
completely ignored, enormous walls of filing cabinets, and obsession over
stamping forms all recall this movie.

Review:
A very thin episode, but Hermes steals every scene he's in. Morgan's passion
for Fry seemed forced and served no purpose other than to get Bender's memory
removed; couldn't they have thought of a funnier way to do this? The musical
number was not as amusing as "Robot Hell" but still pretty clever. They should
also have gone for an all-out parody of "Brazil" in act 3, but instead they
chose to make a few vague, questionable references. I hope we see a
Hermes-centered episodes in the future in which his character is made deeper
and less one-sided. But this trifle will have to do until then. (B-)
