Sendsys bomb in my name

Someone forged a sendsys in my name in the past couple of days. I'm on
a 2400 baud terminal right now so I haven't really sorted things out,
but I did see a cancel message.

It looks like we're in the midst of another attack on soc.motss. We
went through this about a year ago, too - forged moderations of motss,
forged rmgroups of motss, sendsys sent in the name of various posters
to motss. I'm used to anti-gay harassment in regular life, but I'm
disappointed to find it on the net (again). I was sendsys bombed last
year, too (although it got held up at MIT last time.)

I'm UNIX and news competent, so I would appreciate it if people would
keep me abreast of any efforts to track this thing. At this moment I
don't even have a copy of the forgery, as it's been cancelled off of
our disk.

I'm also curious as to why this sendsys succeeded - I thought a good
portion of sites on the net were running software that held sendsys
for a day or two. So far I've gotten some 1000 replies from all over
the world.

I'm sorry anyone should be so intolerant and childish. But that's

Because (speaking for us alone) we don't even get to look at our news
system every day, still less try to figure our which sendsys messages
are fakes. At least there is now the option of cancelling the forgery
before it does any harm (ie sends anything out) from recent C News
sites.
