BENTSEN OPENS CULT PROBE:
Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen launched his probe Monday into
the botched raid on the Branch Davidian cult near Waco, Texas, to
find out "what happened and why." Bentsen pledged to "learn from
that tragedy so that colleagues and future officers are safer."
Also: Cult member David Thibodeau told "CBS This Morning" there
was "absolutely not" a suicide pact among cult members.

Excuse me, isn't Bentsen the conservative Democrat focusing on the
economy, I mean lasor focus on the economy................

Bentsen is opening the probe because the BATF, and the DSS, both are under his jurisdiction as Treasury Sec.

Whee, a spelling flame! How original! How unique! How remarkable!

Well, heck, let's have some fun anyway:

C'mon, we can all play acronym fun! What's YOUR contribution?

Idiot. Bentsen is Treasury Secretary, right? Guess who the BATF
reports to... yep, Bentsen. It seems only natural he would want
to investiate how and if the BATF screwed up in Texas, since he's
in their chain of command.

It remains to be seen if this will be a real investigation, or just
a C.Y.A. goat-rope.

I notice that he did not say -find out what went wrong, so that such
tragedies could be avoided- or -so that our citizens might be safer-
His only focus was that fewer government agents should be killed in the
next assualt.
