Why is it the people not invovled have to put themselves in the
middle of this. Like the In-famous skywalker wow you are so good yeah for

Clash do you. You are just assuming you do. If doreen decides to chime in
she will let you know the truth about certain players going out there to make a
name for themselves. Notice that the players whom made in impact never play for
themselves in a team game. So your 2 cents in this subject and all others
that do not invovle you is really not needed. But, I guess if you and others
where not so intent on kissing each others asses you would probably not be
invovled in this in the first.
And as for Beach not picking up the best players possible they did.
The players not picked up either lack what the team needs or do not work with
the team well.

i simply stated that from what i saw at Clash alan was base defending which is
a team necessity. I also saw his scores way up there in the ascension rounds.
He may hve been out there to prove himself, he may not have. it's irrelevant.

i gave pun one. he didn't stick up for me. gave 2 to wrayth for posts not

Fallout played extremly well in Nats and absolutely deserved to be in the all
star game. he's one of the top 10 on the east, and hell a better than your
sorry ass.On to myself- everyone and their mother knows that on score andskill
merrit i deserved to be on the allstar team. Everything i've done in the past
plus the 7th in solos and 2nd in doubles proved that. I got marked in the box
because along with a bad attitude i'm known for my game. My name is known
because it's the one flashing on the top of the screen. read it enough times
and it's engrained in your memory.
Another rule of smack you kleep foirgetting- as good as yours might be it's
like the written response on an essay test- while creativity is appreciatd and
noted, when you're ass backwards wrong you get no points.

I think the All-Star game was 95% name recognition and 5% skill. Usually, but
not always, the two go hand-in-hand. I personally am not as impressed with
certain individuals' skill levels as a lot of people.
There's a difference between the ability to play good zone and the ability to
cover up enough sensors as to give the impression of being good. Without
answering this myself, which catagory do you think YOU fall into? How about
fallout?
I pride myself on being, although probably only a bit above mediocre, a
substantially cleaner player than many. So any skill i have is in my timing
and dodging ability alone, not my capacity to move my arms in front of my chest
so fast that the GM doesn't see me cheese. How many of the so-called
"All-Stars" can claim that?
And THAT is why I have so much respect for Keoki, cause he's just that damn
good that he doesn't have to sink to cheating to prove himself.

Sitting inside red base at sterling you don't get to see more than 6 feet in
either direction.
Took 3 minutes for both teams to pull me out, all by my lonesome in there, with
only one person on the outside to help me out (though he was doing a hell of a
job, too).

You bring up a very interesting point about zone- skill vs. covering. You know
what- the most skilled players are those that cover but provide the allusion of
not covering(or in somecases not covering to the point of termination). Let me
tell you now- EVERYONE COVERS AT SOME POINT OR ANOTHER. Take for instance some
of the "cleaner" best players in the country: Punisher, Cyber, Karaoke, Slick.
All are respected as clean and fast, but guess what- they cover. Theydon't do
it to the point that you can sit there and cry about itcause it's so blatant,
but they do it more effectively than anyone else while hiding what they're
doing.
First of with Punisher and Slick(they do the same thing)- they are both really
fast, and give the appearence that they are merely dodging shots by merit of
speed, however both use a lot of motion of fire masked by spins and dips. I
would never complain about either one cause i feel they are highly skilled, and
do what they do in a manner that is smooth. Cyber shakes his shoulders when
he's dipping and his arms often cover his chest. he also blocks with his head
when he drops. I consider both moves skilled and consider him the fastest
player in zone, so i don't consider it cheating, however it is covering. Now
Karaoke is a tricky one. I almost thought he was perfectly clean, however i
figured a few out by watcing carefully. When he does his rolling forward dip
and shoots up his arms are tucked at his sides blocking thesensor that recieves
IR from the side, and in the mean time the angle he's at makes the pack
unhittable from a forward shot. your only option is to drop down and fire up
into his chest. He also does a bit of motion of fire, but agins it's the same
as theother three. so fast and smooth that you disregard it even if your laser
hit right on their wrist or forearm.
Puck and i had this convo a week ago. interesting stuff you learn when you pay
close attention.
As for the allstar game- yes it was a popularity contest, which again is wrong,
but in all honesty of the players there; only 4(i'll privately mail that if ya
want) people really didn't belong on there according to their current skill
level, however Fallout is not among them. Also 2 people who for sure should
have made it wern't even at nats(Snoop and Crusader) so i guess someone had to
take the spots.

This is something we've been discussing for years in Sterling. Dates back to
Nats 2, my first tournament. Our standard of play at Sterling is MUCH higher
than that I've seen anywhere else.. we're constantly on each other about dirty
moves and blocked shots (and that's half the reason the rules at NOVA were so
whack) The result is that we never win tournaments, but other teams are
constantly telling us how fun we are to play against. And I was ok with that
up until very recently. Because I want to see just how good I could have been
all this time if I played like "everyone else". It's probably too late for me
to change for VB since I don't get to play very often, but at Nats we'll see
what's what.

Ok then, that's how you play. You don't play clean without making a conscious
effort. I, on the other hand, am the other way around. At sterling we've been
playing clean so long it's a conscious effort to cover. In our practice games
where we're just fucking around, since there's no reason to bullshit and cover
with each other, a lot of us don't (yeah there are exceptions of course). So
when I see you casually leaning up against a wall, arms firmly locked in
position, I just wonder why you're bothering.

intended to practice a little and try not to let my timing go completely to

Because we've played the same way for so long, when someone starts doing moves
that put arms in the way or something, everyone complains about it.
A while ago, when Aftermath was formed, we all sat down and agreed that in
order for the second-tier sterling RPs to learn how to play worth a damn, there
had to be some sort of example, and those of us who could play without cheating
decided to do so. So when someone doesn't uphold that standard, a few people
get irritated. Plus, most of us just think it's more fun to play clean and be
able to hit what you're shooting at rather than have to play around arm.
Yeah, there's a lot of bitching at sterling. Never will deny that. But you
can't deny that overall, we're a very clean team and a clean site in general.
