New version of Nethack for FTP

Hi again,

Just reposting this message on the new group to ensure it is
avaliable to be seen by everyone ... and to tell you that a NEWER version
of my source is avaliable for anonymous FTP. If you have already downloaded
the source, don't worry there is an update file which is only 400K in
size :)

You can find the source code, compiler, makefile executer AND
MsDos Executables at:

ftp.krl.caltech.edu /pub/nethack/Variants/NhPlus

If you have any more questions ... mail me!

Should you decide to download the source ... PLEASE let me know via an
E-Mail note with the subject of NEW VERSION OF NETHACK, I want to keep
track of who to notify of any updates. If you don't tell me ... I can't
tell you :)

SPECIAL NOTE: The new source code is NOT there yet (present date: 06/14/94)
but should be there before 06/18/94 (I hope :) so don't download
it until you see the file update01.txt in the above directory.

You're free to modify NetHack all you like, and to give it away
to others, but I think calling it "the new version of NetHack" is out
of line. For one thing, to comply with the license, changes from the
official version have to be clearly marked.

When a new version of NetHack is released, it will be posted to
newsgroup comp.sources.games and archived at many sites all over the
world. Don't ask me when that will occur; I don't know and wouldn't
say even if I did. ;-)

EVEN MORE SPECIAL NOTE:

I have just uploaded the above mentioned files to the above mentioned
site.

I have uploaded only the sources to the above mentioned directory. The
executables have been uploaded to:

ftp.krl.caltech.edu /pub/nethack/Msdos

Thanks to Steven White for sending me the files and my apologies for
the time it took me to upload them to the appropriate directories: the
trains were on strike here in the Netherlands and I was thus unable to
get to schoold and access this account.
