I recently received a letter from the American Biographical Institute
saying that I had been nominated for inclusion in the Fifth Edition
of Two Thousand Notable American Women. The letter claims that this
is a great honor and invites me to pre-purchase a special, hardbound
Grand Edition for $155.00

The letter goes on to say that pre-purchase does not affect my
nomination, and there is no fee for inclusion in the book.
I am supposed to reply by May 2.

I am not familiar with this organization or with this book. Is it
legit? Is it really an honor? I was the founder and first president
of a local non-profit service organization, so it is possible that
I ended up on their list through it. I was very public for several
years, giving interviews and even being profiled in the local
paper. (I'm only passing on this information to show that it
is a possible source for the nomination, and that I'm not a
total nobody whose name was purchased off a mailing list.)

I would really appreciate any feedback any of you can give me.
Please email me (net access is a little hard) at ja...@indetech.com.

Thanks,

Janet Christian
