I am looking for the title of the first book I ever read. It must have
been about 15 years ago I read it. I read it in Danish and it was about
a young boy who somehow encountered a magician. It was rather dark and
gloomy as far as I can recall. There was something about a large black
bird and a girl as well. I know it isn't much to go on, I don't remember
much about it although I do remember having nightmares about it for a
long time.

If I were to guess I would say the name of the book is 'David' or something
like that. I may be completely off, but somehow I have the feeling that
the title was a single word and was the name of the boy in the story. It
probably was not a very long book, but I also doubt it was a designated
children's book judging from my reaction to it. I would love to find this
book and re-read it now. Any help would be appreciated.
