Also, where are the photos? They do mention them in the report...

CNN has one at
http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/americas/07/02/chile.science.reut/index.html

but it's not very good. I want better and more detailed pictures before I
start
leaping around yelling "Ia Ia!" :)

OH, GODS! IT'S FRED!! We were wondering what had happened to
him/her/it!!! The last we had heard from Fred was a postcard from
Japan about 4 months ago.

Oh, Fred! FRED! This is just horrible! Terrible!

Slideshow:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?p=news&g=events/sc/070203chilesea&i=index
&e=1&tmpl=sl&ns=&l=&m=&c=

or, short url:

Then click the first pic so it and the next ones you see are bigger.

I recommend not trying to eat calamari while viewing.

Very interesting. If you follow Dan's link, please notice how the story in
the captions keep changing. I especially like the one in the middle where
the corpse is definitely identified as a "giant squid," and then the next
caption says it *may* be a giant octopus.
