TR - Winter Warmer

bolts and am not very good. Winter Warmer has lots of bolts and
is not very hard 5.10d. It took me 3 tries to climb it though.
The 1st try I had no partner so I found a stranger who said he
had done it before. I led on sight which was fun but afterwards
saw from the book that I had really climbed Winter Warmer
Variation instead. That has the same grade but is not what I was
trying to do. I cheered up when my new partner fell many times
trying to pink point.
The 2nd try a year later I found the correct start. This start
seemed hard since I was out of shape. In the middle part I went
off route to a rotten crack that looked easier though not worth
any stars. There are bolts all over the place up there. When I
finally reached the roof my arms had no strength so I thought
screw this and jumped off which surprised my belayer. I should
have given her an anchor.
On my 3rd try I had no excuses except for ice on some holds. I
knew where the route went and was not out of shape. I climbed up
to the roof and pulled over. Then suddenly I got scared that I
would mess up and have to come back a 4th time. Luckily the holds
are big. At the top I had a nice view of the brewery but my
partner had been freezing all this time and told me to get down.
