Ironman Facts - the Real Ones!

During the recent Sport+ Ironman Australian Triathlon it was thought that
local, Chris Legh, had run the fastest ever Ironman race by an Aussie...
After checking all our facts we find that although he is now the fastest
ever Aussie on home soil, Greg Welch still rules!
Welch won the Ironman Japan of 1992 in 8:07:39 around 20 minutes ahead of
the field...with a 48 minutes swim so that certainly wasn't short! So, Legh
is certainly the quickest Ironman at home but our claim of the fastest ever
Aussie is false!
