When installing SMS 2003, both via custom and express
setup and using integrated security and not, I get the
following errors:
The Windows server NPS-TWWI that is running the SQL Server
is down or not on the network, or your current Windows
logon ID does not allow you to access the Windows server.
Setup cannot extend the Active Directory schema. Your
Windows logon ID does not have the necessary privileges to
extend the Active Directory schema. You must uncheck
the 'extend Active Directory schema' option if you want to
continue with SMS Setup. You can extend the schema after
the site is installed, by using extadsch.exe from the SMS
CD.
When I look at the installation logs I see the following:
srvacct.log:
<01-15-2004 11:03:57> Created SMS service account
SMSService in domain PSG, the account has local
administrator, domain admin and log on as service rights.

Any one out there have any suggestions as to how I can
resolve these issues and install SMS?
Thanks,
Jay
Regarding your SQL issue, can you connect to the SQL server from the site
server using OSQL at the command prompt? If you have SQL on another server
can you connect to the SMS SQL server using ISQLW?
