I believe this is tied into Internet Explorer's functionality. To turn it
off, open Internet Explorer (if you can't find it, click Start, then run and
enter "iexplore.exe" and click OK), then click the Tools menu and select
Internet Options. Click the Content tab, and then choose the AutoComplete
button. Here you can uncheck the AutoComplete options, as well as clear the
current "lists".

Disabling AutoComplete
In "IE" you can clear your AutoComplete history, and you can restrict
AutoComplete to Web addresses, forms, and user names and passwords on
forms, or disable all three. In MSN Explorer it is not possible to
modify or disable AutoComplete.
Thanks,
Frankie

I'm sorry about that -- I admit I hadn't tested this before I posted it.
However, it appears that you can't turn the option off (as you discovered)
but the 'Clear' button within the AutoComplete dialog, does in fact work.
As well, if you double-click in a form, the autocomplete text for that
particular form 'object' will come up, and by highlighting it with the mouse
(don't click!) and pressing the Delete key on your keyboard will remove
them.
