Having a discussion in another NG about Tweedledum and Tweedledee. We know
about the pre-Carroll origins.
Question is, are T-Dum & T-Dee twins? Tenniel drew them thus, but I see no
reference to this in the text. They are described as brothers, they are both
fat and they are both little. But nothing that says (or, to my mind, even
suggests) that they are identical or that they are twins.

Tenniel has a lot to answer for: after all, where does Carroll say Alice
had long, straight, blonde hair? I can't have been the only little girl
whose short brown curls prevented her from being Alice at fancy dress
parties.

"Let's fight till six, and then have dinner" is one of the most
civilised expressions in literature.
