Scilab 2.0
A Free CACSD Software Package
31 October 1994
Scilab is a matrix-based scientific software package resembling
Matlab and Xmath. Scilab contains hundreds of built-in mathematical
functions, sophisticated data structures (including polynomials,
rationals, linear systems, lists, etc...), a high-level interpretor
and a macro language, and excellent graphics. Thanks to full dynamic
link capability, C and Fortran programs can be added as new functions.
Fully exploiting the X Window's environment, Scilab can be used as
a user-friendly super-calculator and a powerful programming environment
for developing applications.
Scilab comes with a number of specific toolboxes for control and
signal processing and an inter-active toolbox (Metanet) for the analysis
of graphs and the optimization of utility networks.
Scilab runs on Sun Sparc station (SUN OS), IBM RS6000, HP 9000,
DEC Mips, DEC Alpha and PC 486 with Unix (Linux for PC) and X Window
(X11R4 or X11R5). It is distributed in binary format and in source
code format.
Scilab can be obtained by anonymous ftp from "ftp.inria.fr"
(192.93.2.54), directory "INRIA/Projects/Meta2/Scilab".
For problems and suggestions send an email to "Sci...@inria.fr".
