FOREWORD: What follows are various documents I have collected over the years
from one Jewish website after another and the following is very revealing in the
context of letting people know what is taught about Non-Jews by the 21st Century
Pharisees.

All that follows are their own words with just a few editorial comments by me to
bring out the point. This post will cause a "whining and wailing and a gnashing
of teeth" from the Pharisees and the Gentiles who accepted their "thirty pieces
of silver" to do the bidding of the Pharisees.

What follows may be shocking but I hope what follows shocks the complacent ones
into knowing the Neo-Pharisees aren't truthfully their friends. I also hope to
dispel the false notion that a "Judeo-Christian Alliance" exists.

An alliance is supposed based on equality and mutual trust but to the Jew- the
Non-Jew is an inferior person and will always be an inferior person.

An effort has been made to verify all links and replace dead links with working
links or give links to material which is essentially the same. Where noted I
have archived entire web pages so they may viewed offline in my local archives
because Pharisees are known to pull web pages which inform the Non-Jews of their
real character.

Jews do NOT view the non-Jew as their neighbor!

Using the search link: http://www.mnemotrix.com/chabad/ which is Chabad

Key words used: You shall love your neighbor as your self

2: Love Your Jewish Neighbor
Why is it necessary to add the parenthetical comment that one's neighbor
means one's fellow Jew? Why can't one take the verse at face value and say, "I
shall love my neighbor as myself"-period-without restricting...
Excerpt: " The Jew is commanded to respect all human beings. The Torah prohibits
any negative behavior toward a non-Jew, so long as he is not an enemy. He is
instructed, however, not to become too close a companion to him. Thus the above
verse, veahavta l reyacha kamocha, "You shall love your neighbor as your self",
does not imply a universal neighbor. To be honest with the text, the
parenthetical "a fellow Jew" must appear."

As I understand it, the requirements for wine that is not rendered
treif by handling by non-Jews relate to the suitability of that wine
for use in idol worship (avodah zarah). If the wine is not suitable
for idol worship and it is kosher in the first place, then it is not
rendered treif by being handled by non-Jews. The reason for this is
simply that in ancient times, idol worship was extremely common among
non-Jews and therefore there is a good chance that the wine could
have been dedicated to idols before being given to Jews.

Wine which was either boiled (mevushal) or had herbs added to it
(mevushin) was not considered suitable for idol worship, therefore
such wine could be drunk by Jews, if originally kosher.

AFAIK, kosher mevushin wine is quite rare, most kosher wine is
mevushal.

As usual, CYLOR if you have any halachic questions.

Notice the discrimination and bigotry in this: "Boiled wine is really
for use when a non-Jew would be in the position of pouring a cup for
a Jew. At the seder, that shouldn't be an issue, as your cup should
be poured by a fellow Jew at the table."? Tavish

Boiled wine isn't even considered fit for a Jew to drink according to
an article the B'nai B'rith has published! Look for: "...cooked wine
is far less palatable and no one would want to use it. "

Vineyard Vanguard:

The new taste of a well-aged tradition

By Joseph Berkofsky

[ ... ] (Excerpt used for "educational" purposes]

Like all other kosher food or drink, kosher wine cannot contain any
unkosher animal or fish products; to be kosher for Passover, it must
also not come in contact with any leavened grains.

But the law regarding wine extracts another, more pressing, demand: It
cannot be handled by non-Jews.

The roots of this law reach back to the ancient Land of Israel where,
to prevent Jews from drinking wines used in idol worship, Jewish law
forbade Jews to touch wine that had been moved in an open vessel by
non-Jews, since it was likely used as a wave offering. The rabbis
later went further in battling assimilation, declaring any wine
handled by a non-Jew unfit to drink.

Today, in order to ensure that a wine meets all the kashrut
requirements, the entire winemaking process from grape-crushing to
bottling is overseen by trained, Sabbath-observant Jews, or
mashgichim, who handle all flow of the wine. And, as Ben Welton, a
mashgiach for St. Supery and others, can attest, this kind of kosher
supervision can mean as much toil as Torah.

With help from nearby non-Jewish winery workers, mashgichim operate
cranes to unload the grapes from trucks after the fall harvest. They
run the crushers which break the grapes, and pipe the crushed grapes
and juice into steel tanks. And they oversee the rest of the process
from fermentation, when yeast converts the grape's sugar into alcohol,
to filtering the wine and moving it into oak barrels to be aged.

At times, says Welton, this is dizzying work - literally. Not too long
ago, he recalls, he had to dig heavy heaps of stems from a huge
fermentation tank at St. Supery - while wearing a lifeline to show
that he was not inhaling too much alcohol vapor.

Peak season for mashgichim like Welton is between August and January,
when most of the winemaking occurs. And, although a mashgiach need not
be on premises other than when the wine is being moved through the
process, mashgichim will occasionally return to inspect the wine as
it ages to ensure that it has not been touched by non-Jews.

But those wineries that wish to involve non-Jews in the process can
tap into a Talmudic ruling that makes this possible.

Rabbinic authorities decreed that wine, even if touched by non-Jews,
was fit for Jewish use so long as it was mevushal, or cooked. The idea
was, in part, that cooked wine is far less palatable and no one would
want to use it. <END>

steps_t...@bnti.us Lesson 11
By Dr. Akiva G. Belk
First let’s discuss wine. In Yiddishkeit there is a term known as Yayin
Nesekh {wine handled by a heathen}. Originally Yayin Nesekh meant wine offered
to idols. Today among the observant Jews it means wine handled by non Jews. Our
sages forbid Jews to drink Yayin Nesekh... They accept wine whereby the grapes
are not picked or supervised by Jews. They accept wine which is not touched by
human hands... has no human contact from the time it is fed into vats until it
is sealed in bottles.
Strict observance requires that rabbinic supervision be present
throughout the entire process and that the wine be labeled by a recognized
kashrus organization...
Wine contacted by an idolator at any stage of its preparation is the
basis to prohibit its consumption by a Jew. Why? Anything used by an idolator in
ceremonies is prohibited for Jewish consumption. To make this easy for us who
desire to be careful, strict observance differentiates between kosher and non
kosher wine. Kosher wine has two categories. First is “not mevushal” which means
it has not been cooked or boiled. It is acceptable for a non Jew to handle the
bottle as long as the seal is intact. Once the seal is broken non Jews are
prohibited access. The second category is “mevushal.” The presumption is that
wine boiled after pressing is not associated with pagan use. The term that
includes this process is “mevushal.” This wine may be handled by non Jews even
after it has been opened.... <END>

Subject: Yayin Nesech and Non-Religious Jews

In response to Carl's question re wine touched by an irreligious Jew.
There is a Torah prohibition of deriving benefit from something used for
idol worship. This includes yayin nesach (wine that was used in an
idolatrous libation). The rabbis added a category called "Stam Yaynam"
literally "plain wine of theirs" that refers to wine that was touched by
a non jew...
Now, this extra stringency was not legislated on "cooked wine" (yayin
mevushal). Cooked wine - that is wine that has been heated after
fermentation to a temperature somewhere between 104 and 212F - was not
used in the Temple and it seems it was not used in idol worship
either. As such most restrictions re a non-jews touching it were not
imposed upon wine that had been cooked. (Just as an aside - non cooked
wine is seen as the preferred type of wine for kiddush et al, as it is
wine that could be used in Temple service.)
For various reasons the VAST majority of kosher wine sold today is
cooked in this way. It avoids all sorts of problems (like waiters at a wedding).
However it does (so they say) affect the delicate flavor of good wines. I
believe, Golan - in an attempt to be a really good wine - is one of very
few wineries that do not cook their wine.
As for the second issue - ie non-religious Jews treated as non-Jews here
- I believe the Chazon Ish is clear that they are treated as JEWS - and
so the wine would be permitted. But since the issue comes up infrequently I'm
not sure its clear what "normative" practice is. CYLOR. <END>

From vine to vat to bottle: Here's how to keep it kosher
BILL STRUBBE Jewish Telegraphic Agency
OCCIDENTAL, Calif. (JTA) -- Grapes are the only fruit from which
sacramental wine can be derived, so Judaism treats the fruit of the vine with
special reverence.
Whenever wine is on the table, a prayer is offered. The codification of
kosher wine, which began in the days of Maimonides, girded it with strict
production requirements to guard its purity...
*For wine to retain its religious purity when handled by non-Jews, the
wine must be pasteurized; it is then known as yayin mevushal, or cooked wine.
The barely fermenting "must," a slurry of crushed grapes and liquid, is quickly
run over steel plates heated to about 185 degrees until bubbles appear,
satisfying the kashrut laws... <END>

Beyond Passover: California kosher wines come of age
JOSEPH BERKOFSKY

[...]

While the French wines could gain a foothold in the domestic kosher wine
world, much of the battle for kosher wine standing revolves around kashrut
itself. The war is, literally, over heat.
Among the claims to fame by Hagafen, Mount Maroma and Herzog are that
their wines are mevushal, or cooked. In fact, they are flash pasteurized at 185
degrees for several seconds by a machine one St. Supery worker lovingly calls a
"mevushalator."
The process allows observant Jews to drink the wine no matter who is
pouring it. That is crucial not only to gain the coveted "circle U" or U.O. --
the Orthodox Union's widely accepted stamp of kashrut (and costly to winemakers,
boosting the wine's price). It also opens the door to kosher catering sales and
to a burgeoning modern Orthodox clientele that is thirsting for good wines, Weir
and others say.
Mevushal's roots reach to the Babylonian era of the sixth century BCE, a
time of intellectual and social freedom in Mesopotamia when Jews and non-Jews
freely mixed -- and shared sacramental wine... Non-boiled wine could still be
shared between Jews, but only yayinmevushal (boiled wine) could be accepted from
non-Jews...<END>

WHAT IS KOSHER
The definition of 'Kashrut' is 'purity' and the Jewish dietary laws
ensure the hygiene and purity of the products are strictly kept to the laws and
regulations of the bible. In the case of wine, these regulations are especially
stringent. In Judaism, as in other religions, wine is used for sacramental
purposes and at almost every ceremony a blessing is made over wine... <END>

The above is the bottom line about why Non-Jews aren't allowed to handle kosher
wine as in handling the wine after it has been opened or the pouring of kosher
wine by a non-Jew for a Jew-- it's HYGIENE!!! NON-JEWS ARE APPARENTLY VIEWED AS
BEING NON CLEAN!!

See how Jews really view you- the non-Jew? Now are the Jews and their Gentile
Dupes or Gentiles who knowingly have "accepted their thirty pieces of silver"
going to call me an anti-Semite or even a Nazi just because I quote what Jews
teach and show how they really view non-Jews?

As for the statements shown above in the newly added material: "Wine contacted
by an idolator at any stage of its preparation is the basis to prohibit its
consumption by a Jew... To make this easy for us who desire to be careful,
strict observance differentiates between kosher and non kosher wine. Kosher wine

non Jews."

The Seven Principles of Faith and Divine Service for a Non-Jew

Excerpt: "When a non-Jew does possess a sense of affinity towards Jews,
he merits inspiration from the source of the soul of Israel. He becomes
motivated to be a good person in all of his relations to his fellow man
and to devote his life to the service of G-d. The rectification of the
non-Jewish world in general depends upon the inspiration and insight which
it receives from the Jewish people. In accordance with the principle of
clarification, as defined in Kabbalah, one can always deduce or extract a
spark of good from within the context of evil. The major non-Jewish
religion of Western culture believes in an individual Jew and worships him
as god. This is certainly a great transgression (of the fourth Noachide
commandment defined above). Nonetheless, from this evil we can deduce a
principle of good. The true rectification of the non-Jewish world will
come when it will recognize the Divinely ordained purpose of the Jewish
people to enlighten the world and bring about universal peace and
prosperity..."

futility - the socio-historical situation speaks for itself in the

had taught the Seven Laws of Noah to the non-Jews, there would never have
risen a religion such as Christianity. With the knowledge that (through
the observance of the Sheva Mitzvot B nei Noach) everlasting life could be
attained as promised by Hashem to Noach, the resulting fabrication that
everlasting life could come only through belief and worship of a human
being would never have happened. Instead, as we have noted, the teaching
concerning the Covenant of the Rainbow - The Covenant of Everlasting Life,
had been forced into hiding by the vicious persecution of the Jews, and
the new covenant of Christianity was but a pagan attempt to replace the
eternal Covenant made by Hashem to Noach."

... Wine, more than any other food or drink, represents the holiness
and separateness of the Jewish people.

It is used for the sanctification of Shabbat and Yom Tovand at Jewish
simchot. In the Beit Hamikdash wine was poured upon the Altar together
with the sacrifice. However, since wine was and still is used in many
forms of idolatrous worship, it has a unique status in Jewish Law,
which places extra restrictions on the making and handling of wine.
This includes wine used for non ceremonial purposes.

The production and handling of kosher wine must be done exclusively by
Jews. Wine, grape juice, and all products containing wine or grape
juice must remain solely in Jewish hands during the manufacturing
process and also after the seal of the bottle has been opened.

We are not allowed to drink any wine or grape juice, or any drink
containing wine or grape juice, which has been touched by a non Jew
after the seal of the bottle has been opened.

"..... sterilize male animals. In any case there is no prohibition in
buying a vasectomized mouse owned by a non-Jew.
The problem of vasectomizing unclean animals comes up more
commonly when one wants to spay their cat or dog. A Jewish
veterinarian cannot sterilize a male animal and one cannot ask a
non-Jew to sterilize their dog or cat. One can buy a previously
sterilized male animal. In fact a question they asked Ben Zoma is if
one can damage the male generative organs of a dog and he replied that
even that is forbidden (Chaggigah 14b).
Another case of damaging the reproductive organs of male animals
is the sterilization of insects like fruit flies by radiation. These
sterile males are released into the infested area and mate with
females, competing with the normal male fruit flies. A case like this
is discussed in the halachic literature. It is prohibited to hold
someone in the snow until he becomes sterile, although one is not
whipped as a punishment for doing so.

[I love the way this guy compares human beings to fruit flies! It's a
riot and he is a "university scholar" too! Doc Tavish]

In this case the generative organs are not directly injured, but it
is nevertheless prohibited. In addition the taking of a sterilizing
drug is prohibited even though the sterilization is not done directly
by cutting or damaging any organs or even if the sterilization is not
the desired effect but a cure of a disease is.
The halachic discussions of this prohibition are found in the
Shulchan Aruch Even HaEzer 5:11-14 and in mitzvah 291 of Sefer Ha
Chinuch.

Steven Weintraub's Kashrut - Theory, Law and Practice Class Outline and Notes

Steven Weintraub's Jewish Information pages

[ ... ]

III. Law is regulation of meat, but...

Kashrut laws only apply to items considered food. The ability to eat non-food
items because kosher laws do not apply to them might seem crazy, but it should
be pointed out that many of our additives are derived from sources which we do
not consider food. The Talmud comes up with many criteria on what is a food.
One of the first line tests is whether a dog would eat it. If a dog would not
eat it is not considered a food (Those of us who own dogs and see what they will
eat recognize this as a good minimum test.)

[What Weintraub has evidently missed with his naive observation is that many
dogs will eat their own excrement! Does this mean that Jews eat crap? :-)
Tavish comment not in original text.]

As stated in the last lesson, kashrut is the regulation of eating meat. Almost
all kashrut laws put restrictions on eating meat in one form or another.
Remembering this might help in practice of certain laws. I can only think of
four rules that apply to non-meat products, all of which are rabbinic in origin.

1.Grapes (particularly grape juice products) - Because of the long standing
practice to grow grapes (particularly wine) for idolatry, the Rabbis prohibited
the eating of grape and grape products if they were grown by an unsupervised
non-Jew. Grape juice must not be in the possession of a non-Jew unsupervised
unless it is made unfit for idolatry by boiling (Thus most kosher wine is quick
boiled to allow non-Jewish middle-men to handle it). The Orthodox adhere to
this strictly. The Conservative CJLS recognizes (under a teshuvah of Rabbi
Silverman) that this is no longer a problem and have relaxed this prohibition
to allow general use of grape and grape products, but supervised grape
products are still to be used for ritual purposes. A recent investigation by
Rabbi Dorff has shown that treif components might be used and wine production.
As a result a change in this policy to only allowing supervised may soon take
place.

2.Milk - Because the practice of mixing the milk of clean and unclean animals
used to be prevalent (and to increase the Jewish dairy trade), the Rabbis
decreed that milk should only be used if produced by a Jew or under the
supervision of a Jew....

There are five areas of practice that affect the food. These are :

1.Challah - in baking bread (of wheat, oats, spelt, rye or barley) one must take
a portion and burn it in the oven reciting the proper blessing. This portion is
known as challah (not the bread). This is not necessary for bread baked by
non-Jew or dough in very small amounts (less than 3 lbs). Any bread made
without this blessing is not considered kosher....

5.Extremely fine food prepared completely by non-jewish hands. The food we
are talking about are literally stated as those fit for a king. The key word
here is completely. The Ashkenazi custom is that as long as a Jew does as little
as light the stove, the food is kosher. The Sephardic custom is more
stringent... <END>

Notice the phrase: "as long as a Jew does as little as light the stove, the food
is kosher"? Here is more of the Pharisaic bigotry toward the rest of mankind--
us!

...bread that was baked by a non-Jew. This edict was one of several which
served to limit social interaction between Jews and non-Jews. Thus non-Jewish
wine, oil, bread, and cooked foods were all declared off-limits for the Jew(1).
Since bread is so much more of a dietary staple than wine and other cooked
foods - indeed, the Rabbis call it chayei nefesh, the vital element of the diet
- the decree against non-Jewish bread was not as widely accepted as the decrees
against other foods(2). Consequently, in many communities where quality
Jewish-baked bread was not easily available, it became customary to eat pas
palter, which is [kosher] bread that is baked in non-Jewish bakeries. The
rationale behind allowing pas palter is that eating bread that was baked in a
non-Jewish bakery does not lead to mingling and socializing with non-Jews(3).

... MAY WE TRUST A NON-JEW WHEN BUYING EGGS?
(a) The Gemara rules that we may buy eggs from a Non-Jew if he tells us that
they are from a specific kosher bird. We need not be concerned that perhaps the
eggs were taken from a bird which is a Neveilah or Treifah. RASHI (DH Shel) and
the RAMBAN explain that we can trust the word of the non-Jew since he knows that
we can easily check if this egg indeed looks like the egg of the bird he claims
it is from, and therefore the non-Jew will not lie.
(b) The RAMBAM (Hilchos Maacholos Assuros 3:18;19) had a different reading of
the text, according to which our Sugya is not dealing with a Non-Jew but rather
with a Jew who is of unknown credibility. Such a Jew would only be believed if
he singled out the species of bird from which his eggs came. A Non-Jew, however,
would not be believed even if he told us from which bird these eggs came...<END>

JEWISH PHYSIOLOGY The Gemara suggests that perhaps the Shichvas Zera of a
non-Jew might have different properties from that of a Jew, since the non-Jews
eat non-kosher foods and are physically affected by their diet. This has
important ramifications.
The CHASAM SOFER (Teshuvos YD 175) concludes that we cannot assume that a
medical treatment that was tested successfully on a non-Jew will also be
successful on a Jew. Therefore, if a Jewish woman always saw blood as a result
of Tashmish, we cannot determine that a particular cure is reliable is reliable
just because it was experimented successfully on non-Jews. <END>

Imagine the furor if a white gentile were to espouse a black gentile would be

when it is taught under the guise of religion?

says you can -- and can't -- feed your family pet.
Jews around the world are perplexed by what to feed the family pet
during Passover. The Talmud states that not only is it forbidden for a Jew to
eat chametz on Passover, but it is also forbidden to own chametz or to have any
benefit from it.
Additionally, it is forbidden to have a non-Jew give your pet chametz

your pet is regarded as "deriving benefit." <END>

.. It is forbidden to derive any benefit from objects used for idolatrous
purposes. Meat consecrated to an idol, wine of libation, spices, or anything
else used in the idol's service is prohibited ('Ab. Zarah 29b); in fact, any
animal slaughtered or wine touched by an idolater was prohibited to the
Israelite, because it was supposed to be consecrated to his idol; and these
prohibitions applied not only to eating or to drinking, but to any benefit
derived from it. Even after the practice of idolatry lapsed, these prohibitions

...To fully understand this issue, people must understand the
difference between a Jew and a non-Jew. There is one difference

a non Jew does not have. This soul is part of G-d and this is what
makes us Jews, not how many mitzvahs we do or how good a person we

Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel
By Israel Shahak and Norton Mezvinsky. London:Pluto Press,1999, 176 pp.List:

Reviewed by Allan C. Brownfeld
In recent years there has been a dramatic growth of Jewish
fundamentalism in Israel which has manifested itself in vigorous opposition to
the peace process...
Rabbi Kook the Elder, the revered father of the messianic tendency of
Jewish fundamentalism, said, “The difference between a Jewish soul and souls of
non-Jews—all of them in all different levels—is greater and deeper than the
difference between a human soul and the souls of cattle.”
Rabbi Kook’s entire teaching, which is followed devoutly by, among
others, those who have led the settler movement on the occupied West Bank, is
based upon the Lurianic Cabbala, the school of Jewish mysticism that dominated
Judaism from the late 16th to the early 19th century. “One of the basic tenets
of the Lurianic Cabbala,” the authors write, “is the absolute superiority of the
Jewish soul and body over the non-Jewish soul and body. According to the
Lurianic Cabbala, the world was created solely for the sake of Jews; the
existence of non-Jews was subsidiary. If an influential Christian bishop or
Islamic scholar argued that the difference between the superior souls of
non-Jews and the inferior souls of Jews was greater than the difference between
the human soul and souls of cattle, he would incur the wrath of all and be
viewed as an anti-Semite by most Jewish scholars regardless of whatever less
meaningful, positive statements he included.”.... <END>

"Sincerity - I am Abraham s Servant

As mentioned above, a Jew is a son of G-d whereas a non-Jew is intended to be a
servant of G-d. Although a Jew in essence is always a son, when he does not
merit (to manifest the essence of his Divine soul) he is also referred to as a
servant. Though in relation to Jewish consciousness this is definitely a fall,
in relation to creation as a whole, it serves a most positive purpose. As we
have seen above, the Jew must show the way to the non-Jew. When the Jew assumes
the state of servant he inspires the non-Jew to rise to the same calling, to
become a servant of G-d.

The consciousness of servitude is identified in Kabbalah with the Divine
attribute of splendor, whose inner dimension is sincerity. In sincerity, one
stands before one s master in total submission of self and absolute commitment
of will. This sincere state of submission creates an aura of splendor which
encompasses both master and servant.

Sincerity is the branch of awe. When the non-Jew learns submission and
commitment from the Jew he merits the sublime joy inherent in servitude. He
comes to serve G-d with both awe and joy simultaneously.

Victory and splendor trust and sincerity act as partners, as was explained
above. For the non-Jew they represent two forms of conversion. Victory
corresponds to either the full conversion of the non-Jew to become a
full-fledged Jew, or at least to the semi-conversion process of the non-Jew to
become a righteous gentile, as defined by Torah. Splendor corresponds to the
conversion process of the non-Jew to become a trustworthy servant of G-d by
commitment to serve the Jewish people.

The classic example in the Torah of a gentile servant who merits conversion is
Eliezer, the Canaanite servant of Abraham. Due to his total dedication to serve
his master Abraham, Abraham placed him over his entire household. In sincere and
absolute devotion to fulfill the will of Abraham, Eliezer merited such a great
level of self transformation that he is said to have left the realm of curse
and entered the realm of blessing. (This is clearly a rectification, in
particular, of the Noachide prohibition with regard to blasphemy, which, as we
have seen above, corresponds to the attribute of splendor or acknowledgment.)

Eliezer proclaimed: I am Abraham s servant. He did not refer to himself by
proper name, for he had reached a level of consciousness that he possessed no
independent identity other than being Abraham s servant.

A Canaanite servant when freed becomes, automatically, a full-fledged Jew. Even
when not freed in this life time, he may merit to return to the world, in a
following reincarnation, as a Jew. So Kabbalah teaches with regard to Eliezer.
The history of the reincarnations of his soul-root relate to the clarification
process necessary to reveal the soul of Mashiach.

With the advent of Mashiach, all non-Jews will willfully serve (the Divine
purpose of) the Jewish people. Here lies the essence of the clarification in the
mind of the non-Jew with regard to the identity of the true Mashiach. As
mentioned above, at present a very large percentage of the non-Jewish world
worships an individual Jew as god. The non-Jewish world must come to recognize
that all Jews are indeed sons of G-d. The non-Jew must strive to serve and help
G-d s children fulfill their purpose to bring redemption to the world. Then will
the true Mashiach reveal himself.

<STOP>

There should be no doubt that the Jewish sect of Hasidic Lubavitchers view
Gentiles as being their servants after their "Jewish Messiah" arrives when they
openly state: "Splendor corresponds to the conversion process of the non-Jew to
become a trustworthy servant of G-d by commitment to serve the Jewish people."!

Fences of Holiness

Other times, rabbinic rules work indirectly by instilling attitudes
that reduce temptations to sin. The Rabbis, for instance, prohibited
drinking wine touched by a non-Jew or eating food cooked by a non-Jew
as a fence against intermarriage. On the surface, it seems ludicrous
that drinking wine in the confines of one's home that has been touched
by a non-Jew, or eating food cooked by a gentile and bought in a store
could in any way make it more likely that one would marry a gentile.
That response, however, fails to comprehend the purpose of the
rabbinic enactment, which is not designed to protect one against
intermarriage with any particular non-Jew, but rather to create an
all-pervasive attitude that is in itself a protective measure. The
prohibition against eating food cooked by non-Jews and from drinking
wine touched by non-Jews has effectively created an attitude of an
absolute chasm between Jew and non-Jew. The mere knowledge that the
food cooked by a non-Jew is forbidden engenders a feeling of
separateness that makes the thought of intermarriage even more remote.
Similarly, the rabbinic strictures regarding chametz on Pesach have
created a mind-set which makes it extremely unlikely that we will have
any contact with chametz, though it is not something from which we
naturally separate ourselves.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Notice the statements: "The prohibition against eating food cooked by
created an attitude of an absolute chasm between Jew and non-Jew.
Just imagine the uproar by the Jews if a white gentile wanted the same
thing and didn't want intermarriage among his kind. The white gentile
would be ruled a hatemongering racial bigot by the same people that
support this double standard! Simply put- Jews are Religious and
Parshas Kedoshim
The Individual and the Group
The Gemara (Sotah 14a) instructs us in the mitzvah of imitating Hashem
in all His way!,. Just as He clothes the naked, visits the sick,
comforts mourners and buries the dead, so should you emulate His
example. Rambam (Hilchos Availus, Chapter 14:1) mentions all the above
mitzvos, but gives another source: the Torah commandment to "love your
friend as yourself."
[But who is the friend? Not a Gentile in this instance! Tavish]
Why the twofold source for the mitzvah of performing acts of kindness?
The Midrash (Bereishis Rabbah 24:7) relates:
R' Akiva said, "Love your neighbor as yourself - this is a great rule
in Torah." Ben Azzai said, "This is the book of the generations of man
... in the image of God was man fashioned" is a greater rule, for one
should not say, ',since I was shamed, so, too, should my friend be
shamed with me. Since I was cursed, so, too, let my friend be cursed
with me."
R' Akiva, as Hillel before him, saw in the commandment "Love your
friend as yourself" the foundation of the entire Torah. The purpose of
the entire Torah, Rambam says (Hilchos Chanukah 4:14), is to bring
peace and harmony to the world, and in order to achieve this, one must
conduct himself so that those things which are hateful and repulsive
to him are not done to his friend.
Ben Azzai, however, feared rooting a person's conduct towards others
in his own subjective feelings and making what is hateful to him the
standard for his conduct towards others. There is always a danger that
a person might become hardened or insensitive to being shamed or
cursed after repeated instances, and thus less sensitive to the need
not to humiliate or curse others. Therefore, said Ben Azzai, "in the
image of God was man fashioned," is a more all-encompassing source for
our duties to our fellow men.
Although both verses seem to apply exclusively to relationships
between man and his fellow, Rashi in Shabbos (31a) points out that
Hashem is also referred to as "your friend," and one must also relate
to Him in peace and harmony. In addition, the relationship between
one's soul and body must be harmonious. "Love your friend as yourself"
thus applies equally to all relationships: between man and God,
between man and man, and between man and himself. It thus encompasses
the entire Torah. see footnote 1.
There are two reasons for the derech eretz the Torah requires us to
show others. One is communal; the other focuses on the individual. The
first arises out of the desire to bring peace and harmony to the
world; the second because each human being intrinsically deserves the
respect and honor befitting one created in the Divine Image. On the
one hand, the Torah is concerned with the individual and the
development of the Divine Image within him; on the other hand the
Torah is concerned with the community, with the social interactions
between people.
At times, these two concerns are harmonious: what is good for the
individual is good for the klal and vice versa. But there are times
when these concerns are in conflict, and the individual's needs
conflict with those of the community. Sometimes the community must
yield to the individual, and sometimes the individual must sacrifice
for the community. This balance between individual and community is
crucial to a proper observance of the Torah and a development toward
perfection.
In Parashas Kedoshim, there are a series of mitzvos which highlight
the importance of the individual, while at the same time not losing
sight of the importance of the individual as a part of the klal. On
the one hand, the klal does not become the supreme value, robbing the
individual of his intrinsic importance. At the same time, the
individual must recognize that he does not exist in a vacuum, that he
is a member of society whose actions profoundly affect others.
The Torah exhorts us, "Do not spread gossip." Respect the privacy of
the individual. And likewise, "Do not stand by with respect to your
friend's blood" - be willing to exert efforts to save the life of a
fellow Jew, for every Jew is an entire world.
At the same time, do not lose sight of the equal importance for unity
and interaction. Thus, "Do not despise your brother and distance
yourself from him by harboring negative feelings in your heart,
thereby causing division in the common soul that binds all Jews.
Likewise, the Torah continues with a command to recognize our
responsibility to others by reproving them when necessary. Do not say:
I'll mind my own business; live and let live. Your fellow Jew is your
business.
The command, "Do not take revenge" also forces us to recognize the
communal nature of the Jewish people. The Yerushalmi compares taking
revenge on a fellow Jew to one who accidentally strikes his left hand
while hammering and then takes the hammer into his bruised left hand
and strikes his right hand.
Now, we can understand the necessity for two sources in the Torah for
deeds of loving kindness. On the one hand, one must do kindness out of
a recognition of the intrinsic value of his fellow Jew, who is a
reflection of the Divine Image. And, in addition, one must also
consider the ramifications of his actions on society, and do kindness
to promote peace and harmony on a communal level.
Both of these aspects are fundamental and crucial to the proper
service of Torah. The students of R' Akiva - despite learning from
their teacher that loving one another as themselves is the basis of
the entire Torah - failed to adequately honor the Divine Image in each
other or acknowledge one another as partners in developing society.
Our mourning over their deaths during this period reinforces our
recognition of respect for our fellow man as the basis of our
relationship with Hashem. We must appreciate our own individual worth
as human beings created in Cod's image, as well as the intrinsic worth
of all our fellow Jews. At the same time, we must also recognize the
equal importance of the Klal and our need to unite peacefully and
harmoniously into a cohesive community.
1. R' Akiva agreed with Ben Azzai that an appreciation of the
intrinsic worth of the individual is crucial, but felt it was implied
in the words "as yourself." A person must first have a proper
understanding of his own intrinsic self-worth in order to fulfill the
mitzvah to relate to his friend in a similar fashion.
Absolutely no where is a Non-Jew hinted as being a neighbor or a
friend! Re-read the material. Click the link and verify- see for
yourselves what Jewry is being taught! Don't get me wrong; I'm not
wanting to be a friend of Jewry. I have known for quite some time now
how much they really despise the majority of people on this planet.
I showed this web page higher up and I will show it again to drive home the
point that Jews do NOT view Non-Jews a neighbors:
Using the search link: http://www.mnemotrix.com/chabad/ which is Chabad
Lubavitch in Cyberspace and selected key words I got:
Key words used: You shall love your neighbor as your self
2: Love Your Jewish Neighbor
Why is it necessary to add the parenthetical comment that one's neighbor
means one's fellow Jew? Why can't one take the verse at face value and say, "I
shall love my neighbor as myself"-period-without restricting...
Excerpt: " The Jew is commanded to respect all human beings. The Torah prohibits
any negative behavior toward a non-Jew, so long as he is not an enemy. He is
instructed, however, not to become too close a companion to him. Thus the above
verse, veahavta l reyacha kamocha, "You shall love your neighbor as your self",
does not imply a universal neighbor. To be honest with the text, the
parenthetical "a fellow Jew" must appear."
Do some of you still want to believe that a "Judeo-Christian Alliance" really
exists or that a Jew views you as an equal?
Here is how Jews even want an advantage over a Non-Jew in a civil lawsuit:
CONFLICT OF LAWS:
By : Executive Committee of the Editorial Board. Julius H. Greenstone
In civil cases the following rules were established by the Rabbis.
1. In suits between two Israelites the law of the place where the contract was
made governs, or, if the place is not mentioned in the contract, the law of the
place where the case is tried rules (B. M. 83a; Ket. 110b; "Yad," Ishut, xxiii.
12; ?oshen Mishpa?, 42, 14, 15; Eben ha-'Ezer, 117, 19, Isserles' gloss).
2. In suits between non-Jews the law of the land or the Jewish law—to whichever
the parties submit themselves—governs ("Yad," Melakim, x. 12).
3. In matters between a Jew and a non-Jew the suit is decided according to the
law of the land or according to the Jewish law, that system being chosen which
favors the Jew... <END>
Does the above need any explanation!?!?
Here are Non-Jews being referred to heathens and how it is acceptable to loan
money to them and charge interest but a fellow Jew should NOT be charged
interest.
BAVA METZIA: CHAPTER 5: MISHNAH 5
[...]
But one may accept an ironclad investment from heathens - since it is
permitted to loan to a non-Jew for interest, as the mishnah goes on to teach.
The commentators explain that the first part of this mishnah ("One may not
accept an ironclad investment from an Israelite") is superfluous, and appears
only in order to teach the last part of the mishnah law ('but one may accept an
ironclad investment from heathens") (Rashi, Hameiri, Bartenura, Tiferet
Yisrael).
Furthermore, one may borrow from them - non-Jews - and loan to them with
interest - Rambam bases this law on the verse "You shall not lend upon interest
to your brother" (Deut. 23:20), implying that it is forbidden to lend upon
interest to your brother, but permitted to lend upon interest to the rest of the
world. According to tradition, it is a positive commandment to loan upon
interest to the non-Jew, in accordance with the verse, "To a foreigner you shall
lend upon interest" (Deut. 23:21); this is the Torah law (Hil. Malveh u-Loveh
5:1; see there Hasagat Ravad).... <END>
You need to use a font which is 8 point. Any larger of a font may cause the
