Hello Calvin,

The Server Event 2510 "The server service was unable to map error code
1355." can occur when a client on the network sends a malformed network
packet that is processed by the server service.

This error has been seen when there is a MAC OSX client or UNIX SAMBA
client attempting to broadcast for a Windows 2000 server . To find out
which client is sending bad packets, get a network trace of all of the
traffic to the server and then match up the time of the event in the event
log with the data in the trace. Use the Source IP Address to track down
which client sent the bad data.

Thanks,

-John

Good day John,

I manage to trace it to the MAC pc that my boss is
having... I have posted a similar question on the MAC
side of this forum... So far whenever he connects his MAC
to the share folders in Win2K server, this error will
occur... Hmm... Anyway I can solve it? Does this means
the problem needs to be fixed on the MAC side?

Thanks

Hello Calvin,

Yes, this needs to be addressed on the MAC side. Maybe there is updated
client software that you can upgrade to on the MAC machine. If there is,
please share your findings with the community.
