A big hello to all intelligent life forms out there, and to all you others,
the secret is to bang the rocks together, guys.

Saint Olaf College is now officially on USENET (or whatever it is to be
called). We are lucky enough to have a purely academic computer center
(the administration keep to themselves on their system/38) where we hack
day and night (when not playing rogue).

These sites poll us; we have no dialer...yet...

We run A news (where oh where is B news?) and receive news from ihuxl, soon
to be ihps3, and pass stuff on to rose (Rosemount Engineering, Inc).
We will probably have the U. of Minn. VAX polling us soon. Stay tuned.
Carleton runs VMS and hopes to run EUNICE soon. Les would like to
hear from anybody running UUCP under EUNICE.

Briefly, we have a medium 11/70 running combat-zone V7 (security hacks).
Other changes include nifty terminal driver to allow graphics tty line
disciplines, device independent graphics language implemented in C, F77,
F4P, and DEC BASIC+ (no mean feat). 2- and 3-d generalized plotting programs
with a really slick function compiler.

We are interested in communicating with anyone who has done work on the
tty driver, disk optimization (we have CDC-9766 drives w/ SI 9400 controller),
tricks to gain kernel data space, etc.
