At the suggestion of a person in this group (you know who you are,
so you may either take a bow or run away fast - depending on what
you think of this), in the tradition of a Shuggoth On The Roof,
Shub-Niggurath Superstar.

Shub-Niggurath Superstar - by Jean Ann Donnel

(imagine squid faced dancers dancing with gleaming scaled bodies in the
background)

VOICE OF Randolph Carter

Every time I look at you I don't understand
How all those appendages come and go at your command.
You'd couldn't have managed it better with such a diabolic plan.
Why'd you choose New England in such a boring land?
Only slide out of the underground and you can reach a whole nation.
Innsmouth of the past had no mass communication.
Not saying your wrong.
Just really need to know.

CHOIR

Shub-Niggurath, Shub-Niggurath
Who/what are you? Who shall we sacrifice?
Shub-Niggurath Superstar,
Goat with a Thousand Young they say you are.

VOICE OF Nyarlathotep

Tell me what you think about Hastur way at the top.
Who besides Cthulhu, Hastur and you are the pick of the crop?
Dagon, was he where it's at? Is he swimming where you are?
Could Azathoth move a planet, or is that just to far?
Did you mean to puddle like that? Was that a mistake, or
Did you know messy liquefying would have some call you a faker?
Not saying your wrong.
Just really need to know.

CHOIR

Shub-Niggurath, Shub-Niggurath,
Who/what are you? Who shall we sacrifice?
Shub-Niggurath Superstar,
Goat with a Thousand Young they say you are.
(Repeat many times)

Please don't eat the piano player - she'd playing as fast as she can (with
tentacles).

I'll do both!

Hilarious lil' piece of work. I feel honored to have influenced you into
thinking up this elaborate joke. I'm gonna hang it on my fridge for all to
see (and none to grasp).

Hope you don't get sued... gotta run now!

True, think I need to do some rewording.

Though if it makes you feel any better, the other day I started trying to
figure out how to adapt "Heaven on their minds" into something more
Lovecraftian.

"Cthulhu! We're starting to believe the dreams we have of you! People are
believing these dreams of you are true! And Human Civilization will soon be
washed away! You've begun to matter more then those you've made insane!"

That's off the top of my head. I'm sure with more thought and access to
original lyrics I could do better.

I'll probably work on it once I finish some more writing serious projects
I'm working on at the moment.

Though for some reason, Lovecraft seems very adaptable to certain areas of
pop culture. I wrote a Lovecraftian southpark episode even, just for the
hell of it. Turned out pretty well, or so I was told by both a person who
was both a southpark and lovecraft fan, and somebody who didn't like
lovecraft but liked southpark.
