I am currently researching the subject of information spaces also.
It has come about as a result of an interest in Post-Structuralist
theory. My college design studio just finished a project on defining
a space of "Transparency", which exists in the technological
dis-engagement of the body from the mind through informational media.
If interested contact me at Ky...@aol.com. Also, I would like to get
any additional sources someone might have on the subject.

my first thought (apart from obvious fictional starting points: Gibson),
is an article in the A&U (japanese archi. mag) on Vilem Flusser
"Mediarchitecture", which seems to be about cyber/biospace interfaces:
where cyberspace leaks into our reality. it also has a good few refs to
spring onto!

Neil Spiller over here seems to do the most (publiscised) work on
Cybertecture. He's soon going to publish a book I think.

Unfortunately I don't know his e-mail address (Neil if your're reading
this jump in when you like!)

A good primer on VR, is "cyberspace the first steps", by Michael
Benedict. or VR through the looking glass by Kevin Teixiera & Ken
Pimental (although this is a little utopian, being published by Intel!)

I'm currently doing a dissertation on VR and architecture here in the
Welsh School, so keep in touch, kyle!

cheers

Matt
