I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM GT

I would like to remove the EDR (Electronic Data Recorder) that is a silver
box attached to the Airbag circuitry.

This device is like an airplane 'black box' and records vehicle speed and
braking before and after airbag deployment.

Can it be removed or disabled without setting off a SES (Service Engine
Soon) Condition.

Thanks,
schnell

We leaned closer as schnell <no...@home.com> whispered:

Even if it could be, it would almost certainly devoid your warantee just
as surely as the check that they do on it for extreme driving speed
would.

(Just to followup, last I knew this "check" was just rumor, whereas
removing the EDR probably would void your warranty If there's anyone who
could confirm or deny this rumor that would be nice.)
