flashing bios on perl mobo

I have a Intel d865perl motherboard. It had P12 bios. I tried flashing it to
P15. After I flashed it the system wouldn't boot. So I downloaded the
recover bios P15. I did what is said (popped the case and took the jumper
off and let the computer read the 3 1/2 floppy. It fixed itself. I thought
it would go back to the P12 bios. But low and behold it is now P15.
Everything seems to be working okay now. Has anyone else had any problems
flashing the bios.

It froze at the point where the pc manufactures logo appears in the boot
screen. You know how the personalize it with their own logo at the boot up.
I was thinking that maybe that was what was causing it to not flash
properly?
