If you're in our neck of the woods (central NC) and you like o-t
stringband music come on out to El Chilango Mexican Restaurant and hear
the delicious HUSHPUPPIES this Thursday night. The Hushpuppies are Steve
Terrill- banjo, mandolin, guitar; Jon Newlin-fiddle, guitar; Amy
Davis-banjo, guitar and banjo uke; and Molly Stouten-guitar and fiddle.
In addition to having a great repertoire of songs from the Pilot
Mountaineers, Ernest Stoneman, the Kimble family, the Woodie Bros. and
tunes from Narmour & Smith, Marcus Martin and Emmett Lundy.... they're
all fine singers. Their new self-titled CD has just come out, the local
fiddlers' convention season is in full swing and the Hushpuppies are hot
as a 2 dollar pistol...so don't miss 'em!!

El Chilango is on Jones Ferry Rd. in Carrboro, 2 blocks east of the
intersection of Jones Ferry and NC 54. Music at El Chilango begins at
8:00. On nights with a host band there is always a jam session after the
band's performance, beginning around 9:00.
