1993 October 10
[EL: Lynn Minmei born in Yokohama, Japan]
1999 July 1
Gigantic meteor[ite] falls on South Ataria Island. Upon investigation, it is
determined to be an alien spacecraft. It is designated ASS-1.
2001 February
Ortech Company starts restoration and reconstruction on ASS-1, the flagship
of Earth's United Military. ASS-1 (Alien Space Ship) is redesignated SDF-1.
2009 January
SDF-1 (Super Dimension[al] Fortress) is named Macross.
February
Macross's space launch ceremony. The Centrady Fleet is discovered within the
Solar System. While on an enemy search operation for Inspection Fleet
survivors, the Centrady Fleet by chance detected traces of an Inspection
Fleet cannon ship's (Macross's) defold reaction and came in pursuit.
Centrady's first great war against Earth begins. Macross misnavigates during
its fold trip and folds out of [the major planets' orbits of] the Solar
System. It returns to Earth by conventional space travel.
October
[EL: Minmay celebrates her 16th birthday]
November
Misa Hayase, Hikaru Ichijo[u], Maxmillian Jiinas, and Hayao Kakizaki take
part in the first contact between Earth's humans and Centrady. Lynn Minmay's
debut. Macross's Earth homecoming.
December
Macross receives orders to depart from Earth and departs again.
2010 January
First stellar marriage between Max and Miria.
February
Macross and Britai's fleet conclude peace agreement. The Battle with
Bodolza's Main Fleet. Earth's total destruction. Due to the Minmay Tactic
[Attack], the United Military and Britai's Fleet triumph.
March
End of the first great stellar war. Atmosphere purification operation
begins. Populations reaches 100,000 residents in the Grand Cannons III and
V, the lunar surface's Aporo Base, and space colonies.
April
New United Government established. Centrady Education Program begins.
Micronization of applicants via Protoculture technology begins.
May
Macross City reconstruction begins. Mass cloning of people, animals, and
plants begin.
June
During construction on the lunar surface's Aporo Base, SDF-2 is named
Megaroad-01. Construction resumes.
2011 March
Maxmillian and Miria Jiinas conceive the first interstellar child. She is
named Komiria.
August
Giant [Centrady] riots break out in all parts of Earth.
September
Mass colonization plan. Both super-far-range colonization by means of
exclusive large colonization ships (in order to preserve the species) and
close-range colonization implemented by converting old-style transport ships
(to counteract Earth's population explosion and shortage of supplies) are
developed in parallel.
October
Operation to capture a factory satellite begins.
November
Factory satellite arrives at Earth. Kamjin begins aggressions, Minmay
hostage operation.
2012 January
[Defensive] Battle of Macross City. Announcement of mass colonization.
August
Lynn Minmay's Farewell Summer Concert Tour.
September
Megaroad-01 leaves port as the first long-range colonization fleet.
Construction of the second and third mass production supar-far-range
colonization battleships based on the Megaroad. Thereafter, 1 or 2
extra-long-range colonization ships are constructed every year.
2013 April
Launches begin for a continuous flow of close-range colonization fleets.
(The objective is the search and colonization of stars within 100 light
years of the Solar System.)
November
A planet discovered in the Gloom Bridge 1816 Star System 11.7 light years
from Solar System is named Eden, and colonization begins.
2014
Admiral Grobal's appointment as United Government representative. Launches
of the second and third super-far-range colonization fleet (Megaroad-02
battleship and -03 battleship). Thereafter, super-long-range colonization
fleets are routinely launched. Guld Goa Bowman born on Earth [to Centrady
father and Human mother].
2015
Isam Dyson [of Japanese-Caucasian ancestry] born on Earth.
2016
Britai's appointment as United Spacy's commander. Megaroad-01's
communications cease near the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. (News about
this ship is not publicized.) Myun Fan Long [of Chinese-Caucasian ancestry,
BTW, not Korean] born on Planet Eden.
2020
New Edwards Flight Center, a weapons testing center under direct military
jurisdiction, is established on planet Eden.
2025
Megaroad-12 discovers an inhabitable planet near the center of the Milky Way
Galaxy
2030 September
The space launch of the first New Macross Class super-massive colonization
battleship. The colonization fleets' population reaches the proportions of 1
million people.
November
Armed revolt by the giant Centrady living on Earth. The Second [Defensive]
Battle of Macross City. After the Second Battle of Macross City, giant
Centrady are not permitted to live on Earth.
December
Because the increase in hereditary children's diseases due to overuse of
cloning, mass cloning is terminated.
2031
Birth of 7th child, Mireina, to Max and Miria. Debut of a movie portraying
Bodolza's Battle and Minmay's love, "Love, Do You Remember." It becomes a
big hit, and the Minmay boom rekindles.
2038
Launch of the 37th long-range colonization fleet centering around the 7th
New Macross Class battleship. Captain Max and Second-in-Command Miria are
assigned to it. The colonization fleet travels towards the center of the
Milky Way Galaxy. Exedore accompanies fleet as an observer.
2039
Virtual singer Sharon Apple's debut. Her popularity explodes.
2040
YF-19 and YF-21 prototype mecha competition is conducted at Planet Eden's
New Edwards Flight Center.
2045 October
New Macross 07 on approach path with planet Baroeta. Exedore has warned
against coming close to this planet, but Max did not heed his warnings @
Next! On TV [sic, Newtype]
Notes: I translated and compiled this timeline the same night I bought my
Newtype magazine. So, forgive me if the translation too literal in some
areas and too loose in others. =P This timeline follows the original TV
series closely with the exception of Admiral Grobal's appointment in 2014.
Neither the original movie nor Macross II's events are apparently part of
this timeline and there is no mention of Macross II's frequent Centrady
attacks.
