I Hope im not totaly wrong here, but I have a serious problem with CIFS
mounting a share with mount.cifs give the following errors:
n the terminal:
mount -t cifs //134.130.17.230/homes /mnt/home/ -o
username=steffen,workgroup=MEDIT
gives:
mount error 22 = Invalid argument
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)
in var/log/messages:
Nov 12 09:39:53 lightning kernel: CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13
Nov 12 09:39:53 lightning kernel: CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return
code = -13
And watching the login process with ethereal give:
Protocol Info
SMB Session Setup AndX Request,User:MEDIT\steffen
SMB Session Setup AndX Response,Error: STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
in details:
NT Status: STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE (0x000006d)
Whenever I use
mount -t smbfs ... it works
can anyone tell me, what the error codes are all about / where I can
find them. And what the problem is.
To me it looks like cifs does use a different authetification sheme and
perhaps needs additional attention for that (e.g. registration of the
client ??)
but I'm not sure on that.
regards / mfg
