If i run the msi installation on a clean machine (with absolutely no
extras installed)right after i start i get to see a window that its
configuring the windows installer, and a few seconds after that i get
an errormessage :
(Dutch) === Logboekfunctie gestart: [Date] [Time] ===
(English) === Logging started: [Date] [Time] ===
The string is in the stringtables as IDS_ERROR_10
After the error message i can only click ok, and the installation is
aborted.
When i run the installation again , everything works perfect (install
uninstall reinstall
regardles of howmany times)
The error only happens on clean machines (i use vmware for testing it,
so i dont
have to setup a new installation everytime now, but we've seen it
happening on real
machines also, xp, 2000 professional, NT and 98...
I tried both versions of the windows installer (release ->
wininstaller 1.2 and 2.0)
but that didnt change anything, i removed all my code with
enable/disable logging
and that didnt change anything. I tried to trace it but the error
message happens
before the debugger even enters the script...
I can not find anything about this in the knowledge base either,
if anyone knows whats going on, plz email me ?
