I think she means the red string a la the Kabbalah Centre. It's
designed to ward from the effects of the "evil eye"....when someone
gives you a dirty look. Theoretically, a dirty look is somehow
provoked by you, so, when you recieve one, it gives you bad Tikune (or
Karma)...the Red String is prepared in a special way then tied on the
left wrist.
