Does Any one have any Eat the Document Outtakes, beside the John Lennon
one. If so I'll trade for them.

Are there any ETD outakes that are available, besides the lomo ride. I
know Pennebaker has miles of stuff, but I've never heard/seen any other
outtakes. Anyone?

The problem I *think* .... I was told .... is that Dylan & Alk
edited the MASTER film stock rather than a safety copy.
Ergo cuts were well & truly cut.

The almost complete "Thin Man" (from Stockholm ?) intercut with bits
of Dylan chasing a bowler-hatted gent round Hyde Park, that was shown
somewhere - an induction/halloffame/back-pattingnetwork/conference
thing I think, was re-assembled from surviving bits by Jesse Dylan.

Apologies for vagueness ; the clip is -well- worth hunting down.

And before you ask, NO I don't.

I have a complete copy of Ballad Of a Thin Man from 1966. I don't think
it's Stockholm, he is wearing the checkered suit and it dosen't seem to
match up with a few pictures I have in a book from Stockholm. The quality
is crystal clear. It starts out with Dylan arriving at an airport (I'm not
sure where) and a small part of the 1965 KQED Press conferece playing
(just 2 questions from reporters). Next the song comes on, about in the
middle of the song it flashes out to the guy in the park, pretty weird.
Thats pretty much it and the song finishes out. I have a copy of ETD, is
this an outtake from ETD? Where did it come from?

I know their is a complete performanc of Ballad of a Thin Man, bcause i
saw it in a movie theater on a film called "Decade of Dylan". This
video even focuses on dylan cuban heels violently stomping up and down
as he keeps the beat. By far the best Dylan footage I have ever seen.
Oh yhea the vidoe was crystal clear!!!!!!!!!

Adrian
P.S. If anyone has this video I'll trade for it-----BYE

Ahh, the lomo ride... Visions of Bob astride a galloping Spanish ham.

Yeh-yeh - Lomotil are -cool-.

It wouldn't - I meant Copenhagen.

Now someone or other who got a copy from Novato said it was retailed as
Belfast. Unlikely I think. But tricky .....

Pennebakers was a one camera shoot I believe, using 3 minute cartridges.
The digression in the park probably comes up somehwere around 180 secs
does it ? You'll notice the digitized editing at the break gives clues
to the date, or at least the deacde of this production.

Other Eat the Doc outtake footage is intercut to provide either
cover for brief passages where the original footage is no good/lost,
or in the brief edits and cross-shots where an impression of
multi-camerawork is created. (I hope thats not too offensive
technically to anyone who's media literate).

-Sound- continues since that was dubbed from the soundboard tape.

I was saying to somebody via e-mail that the hall shot where you see
2 follow spots, looks nothing like my impressions from playing the
Queens Hall Belfast (I hope my memory isn't going to trip me up here;
QHB IS the right location for '66 isn't it ?) but of course that shot
*could* well be dubbed in from another location IF its a cut - or is
it a smooth pan out from the band ? I don't know. Don't have the tape
in front of me .....

Can anyone produce an audio of Thin Man '66 that -matches- this clip ?
My understanding is that none fit hence the location query.
