Does anyone have any idea what might be the problem with my IC
706. ... the psu unit shuts down on protection just as the rig
power up relay comes in . ... rig although the fuses are
not blowing ( I presume the psu protection is cutting in first ) .

Please correct me if I am wrong: (A) The IC 706 and Derivatives ARE ... ENGINEERS and
NOT THE Paying "USERS" to provide the DESIGN that will ... I think its
time that ICOM fessed up to the reality, start building them STUBS Gary. ... My goodness,
even my OLD Moto rig had an RX short out when you used high power.

Are you aware that the T1 is a 20W tuner? You can use it with a 706 if
you turn down the power to 20W or lower, but you will not
be able to use it at 100W.

The '706 has to be set up for the kind of "keying" you will be using for CW, as well
as which connector. Is your antenna set up correctly, with little reflected power? ... AT-180
Auto-tuner and hook up the coax for the antenna, but did not hook up ...

IC 706 HF Digital Modes

I seem to be able to get 100 watts when I select the RTTY option but I'm not sure ... I would
be obliged I'm sure this rig must be able to puts its full power on to HF digital.... It is
a super radio but there seems to be little or no info on Digital modes.
